New Toyos and 17" TRD Off-Road Wheels Installed Today

Just wanted to share for anyone looking. While 265/70R17 is a popular tire size, it sure doesn't seem like many buy the c-load Toyos in that size. Most opt for the SLs or the E-loads. I felt like the c-load was a good happy medium between being tougher than stock, good aggressive sidewalls, and taller tread for longer tread life, but without being too harsh of ride quality.

I had the SR/SR5 premium alloy wheels and wasn't a huge fan, so I picked up a set of the 17" TRD OR wheels, and had the LT265/70R17 Toyo ATIIIs mounted and installed this afternoon. Rides and looks great. It actually even makes the work truck base model black bumper caps look good. I thought about going up to LT285/70R17 , but didn't want to hurt my gas mileage too much and also wanted to stay narrower to help with rock chips and such. I'm happy with the decision.

Truck looks nice, enjoy those new tires, color looks nice, cant wait till summer here where the mud and snow will be gone and i can wax my truck outside lol

Love it. That’s the colour I really wanted but it’s only available on the Sport Premium in Canada and I prefer the OR trim. The lowest trim they sell here is the 4x4 SR5 double cab.

Thanks. It is a really sharp color and I'm glad it worked out that way. Ordinarily I kind of just get what I get, meaning what's available. I'm always chasing after whatever manual is available, and this one happened to be an order that someone gave up on, so when it became available I went and jumped on it. In the past that's always worked out to where my options are gray, black or white. Kinda cool having a colorful color for once. But, like you if it wasn't available in what I wanted, I'd be ok without it.

I actually think these wheels look better paired with a truck that doesn't have black fender flares. I really like the black fender flares on the ORs, but something about them with these wheels looks off to me. So I guess for my desire I sorta got the perfect package.
