Looks good. Not knocking it, just seems like a lateral move to me...
I know its a thing, guess I dont have the balls to do it....
Could have had your offroad wheels power coated all black for $300....
I really like the sr5 stock wheels & had a sr5 before it was bought back due to paint defects.
I really wanted to blackout the sr5 wheels....
Well second truck I went with a sport even though im not a fan of the hood at all....
Hated the wheels.....
So when I got the sport, I had the wheels powder coated..
But then I sold them, when I came to the conclusion that tire options suck when it comes to 18's & your stuck with E load which ride like crap on these trucks, stiff sidewall...

Got it, that makes sense...Looks good.
I'm running steelies in the summer, gonna use up the Trail Terrains. In the winter, I'll be running the OEM alloys (powdercoated satin black) with 255/80r17 E Loads. I know the ride will be a bit firmer but I find the Offroad suspension pretty soft so it should balance out, I'm hoping anyway.
Do you have a part number for the lug nuts? They're different than the flat seat style for the aluminum wheels. For the steel wheels they're acorn style. They're the OEMs and are +25. They are only 7inch wide so you won't be able to run 285s, but the factory 265s are a nice fit, not much more poke. I think they look amazing, especially with that gunmetal finish. I was expecting your typical gloss black, glad to have this surprise when they showed up!

I wouldn't do that to be honest. The acorn alloy lug nuts have a flat bottom and the ones for the steelies have the tapered bottom, which the steel wheels need. The factory alloy nuts work just fine
I'm running the Toyota steelies, I use these if you're interested. They have a 60 degree Conical Seat.Do you have a part number for the lug nuts? They're different than the flat seat style for the aluminum wheels. For the steel wheels they're acorn style.
Thank you!!

Getting conflicting data here from Toyota parts websites lol but I'm pretty sure this is the acorn lug nut the steel wheels will need
I’m looking at the steelies as well, $470 Canadian for the set and $480 in lug nuts to hold them on.In Canada these were $117 each.
They're the same as the spare rim, 17 x 7, 95.1 bore, +25 offset
My Toyota dealer in BC quoted me $3.50 each for lug nuts that work with the OEM steelies.I’m looking at the steelies as well, $470 Canadian for the set and $480 in lug nuts to hold them on.
Any suggestions on a good set of nuts that don’t cost more than the wheels? ( and are able to handle 154 ft lbs torque )
I ended up with the TRD M14x1.5 lug nut set:I’m looking at the steelies as well, $470 Canadian for the set and $480 in lug nuts to hold them on.

Did you torque these to 154 like the manual says, everyone I speak to says it's too high, the tire place, and I could only get a hold of one Toyota service dept to answer me and they said it's 90lbs. Even Google ai says it's too high. Only chat gpt agrees with the manual
I had my doubts about those torque specs too. Google AI claiming the 154 ft lbs in the manual is likely a misprint. But the dealer reassured me that the manual is correct . So when I get Costco to install my winters, I better get them to change the 97 ft lbs on the work order to 154 so I don’t lose my wheelsThe more I went back and forth with chat gpt, yes the manual definitely says 154 for steel wheels, and gpt clarified it's because the hub assembly is basically the same as the tundra now, with larger studs then they used to have in previous gens, and the tundra has had those torque specs for steelies going back to their 2nd Gen. And now with the 3rd gen tundra it's pretty much identical to the Tacomas 4th. So I guess I'm sticking with the manual and hope they don't snap.
I drove around for a while at 120ft lbI had my doubts about those torque specs too. Google AI claiming the 154 ft lbs in the manual is likely a misprint.
