Recently upgraded to a 2026 TRDOR Premium(long story, but the Ranger was basically a Lemon). One of the things I DID like from the Ranger that I wish carried over to the Tacoma was the way it handled Driver assist and cruise control. It would automatically adjust the cruise control speeds based on signs you were passing and you could also set an offset like +4 so if you passed a sign at 70mph it would set your CC to 74, or if you passed a 55 sign, it would slow you down to 59.

I was hoping the newer Tacoma's had this abillity, as it was really nice to have. As it stands now, once you have DRCC turned on and you brake to slow down, it seems you can't even lower the DRCC speed without resuming it at the original speed first, so you have to turn it off completely and then turn it back on.

That wouldn't work for me. I frequently go to Montana, and there are two speed limits. One for cars and big trucks, which is ten slower. The camera always reads the slower sign.

You can always override it, but I get that. Would be nice if it gave you the option to accept the new speed limit or not

I wish you could move navigation/Google Maps/Waze over to the driver's cluster like on General Mess products. That is pretty nice. It fills up the whole Speedo cluster with your speed displayed in the lower left hand corner.

You can “resume” at the lower speed. If you hit the cruise control button again, it will set it at your current speed and start cruise control. Resume will resume at your old speed and then you’ll have to adjust it from there.

That would be a nice feature for some roads where there is only one speed limit. Same here once you cancel the cruise control, you have to shut it off twice. Or it will resume unless I haven't figured something out. 🤷 it wouldn't surprise me.

Aw the old "4 is fine, 8 you're mine" theory. Crash injury lawyers love that one more than traffic cops. :-/

I was aware of the feature for how many different vehicles we tried.

The new Ranger had elements and characteristics I thought were good, but a few red flags were flown instantly. Short bed, US and Ford SFQ added to their horrible (Stellantis too) position for recalls.

I hope your new purchase works out well for you. 18 months later I can say no regrets with our gen 4 Tacoma. It's been pretty much no problems but the few known recalls.
