If you could only recommend one item that every Tacoma owner should have on every trip, whether it's for towing, camping, off-roading, road trips, or daily driving, what would it be and why?

Some good suggestions. But one thing that would ever always regardless of trip type be kept in Riddick?
#1 Jump Battery. Though with a hybrid that generally keeps the 12V topped off, that's largely a carry-over from a non-hybrid life.
#1 (alt) - Kinetic rope.
Beyond that, depends on whether we're in daily-driver mode, or, overland config. The overland kit contains pretty much everything noted already (tools, zip, tire plugs, you get the idea). I've kept the 'go bag' ready for years now. Very convenient, if we decide to do a quick weekend camping trip, to just grab it, and other gear, and go.
