Anyone else experiencing what I can only assume is parking brake failure. Not sure if it's a dirty sensor, loose wiring, or what have you.
I noticed it once before a long while ago but thought nothing of it, but lately more commonly as I'm driving I'll get a message "Parking Brake Unavailable" while driving and the parking brake light will flash, this will immediately resolve itself. Today it happened and popped up 4-5 times on my drive to work about 20 minutes from my house. When I parked, the parking brake applied flawlessly but as I sat in my truck running the error came up another 3-4 times. Parking brake still works absolutely fine.
On my drive home, 12 hours later, I had not a hitch no warnings nothing.
I park underground parking at home, and before Wednesday, I hardly moved the truck at all outside. I do suspect there's probably a fair amount of mud and dirt buildup in the undercarriage do to the slight shake/vibration I'm getting at 120kph but it's harder to wash underneath as no washbay locally has an undercarriage wash. My only assumption is the dirt underneath could potentially be blocking something up or setting off a sensor.
I wouldn't give a damn if I owned an automatic but I have a manual and I'd rather not have to rely on my 1st gear to hold the truck stationary if it ever was to fail.
Anyone else have any issues with this damn electronic parking brake. Why on earth they'd put electronic parking brakes in a manual blows my damn mind, I could rant off for hours on end on how much I hate electronic parking brakes from vehicles to forklifts, never should've been invented.
