I use a 6-foot cable lock if I have to lock. I bought the type that has a smaller head that inserts into the lock body. This allows me to run it through the D-ring on the truck bed and then through the bike frames. Hopefully just enough to slow down a thief and get him to move on.I'm thinking about making the switch to a Tacoma, I"ll have a bike on a tailgate pad a lot of the time. I don't have to lock it often, but after a ride if I need to run in somewhere I use this fairly large Kryptonite bike lock: https://www.rei.com/product/206299/kryptonite-keeper-785-integrated-chain-lock?sku=2062990001&store=&CAWELAID=120217890013427537&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=107744800984&CATCI=aud-1396942688155la-444972961838&cm_mmc=PLA_Google|21700000001700551_2062990001|444972961838|brand_flag|10023999036&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=10023999036&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhafEBhCcARIsAEGZEKKkruIpbFJcIQyXLFyGrawgoM17S-7d-jADJfbpz1bds6_L_vQT3yQaAhcAEALw_wcB
I remember in the past with a rental car that the D-ring is too small for this, so what is your method for locking?
The one I own is masterlock brand, but several years old. I'm not sure the exact part number of it - but it looks similar to this:
