Roof Rack, Lights, and Gas mileage?

Previous Gen I had, Installed roof rack and lights and the already anemic 4.0 struggled on the freeway.
How is the 4th gen holding up?
Notice a hit on the gas mileage?

My MPGs suck but I don’t fully blame the rack and lights. It was also the larger tires and added weight from the bumpers, sliders, armor and gear.
I hover around 14.1-14.5 in the city and then 15-18 highway.

Yep, you have lots of stuff, nice rig. I guess I was wondering more if it slows you down or robbing your HP.

In my 4th gen when It's loaded up it near as strong on the Freeway. Your gas mileage isn't far off mine.

Through that lens - I have plenty of HP and/or torque on the highway. I've never felt robbed of that. To be clear, yes it sucks, but I don't care. This truck is great and I personally didn't buy it for MPGs. I bought it because I have 1 life and we love spending time outdoors.

First off nice looking truck!
Thank you for being honest about your mileage. My 24 Tacoma runs around 2000 lbs over stock weight and my average mileage is 13 in town and if I keep her under 75 miles an hour I have seen up to 14.5mph. Even with the weight my truck still has plenty of power, ( I have tuned her and installed a sixth element cold air intake ). I am So looking forward to proven long term use of the new larger turbo and stage 3 tune to make her almost complete, other than I want to put a supercharger on too help her have even more HP for running in the dunes.

Great looking rig. Yeah - I havne't done a tune or anything. Im waiting for the S&B to be approved in California. I honestly don't know if they have a tune for the TRD Pro yet. The Banks system is also catching my eye.

I did my weight recently and I was 6,700lbs. 3540 on the front and 3060 on the rear.

The racks are cases are off the truck right now and Im adding a GFC so for now, I'll enjoy the ~300 or so less lbs on the truck
