I’m pretty happy with my build as it stands. Here’s what I’ve done so far and what I may do in the future.

2024 TRD Off Road Premium w/ SDM

Add ons:
  • SXTH Element axle-dump exhaust
  • DV8 trailing arm skids
  • OEM sliders
  • 285/70r17 Falken Wildpeak AT4W
Want to add:
  • Full skid package
  • Rigid Fog lights
  • Cali Raised low profile in-grill light bar
  • Trailhunter ARB rear bumper
  • Larger fuel tank
  • ARE camper shell
The goal has been to make the truck as capable as possible with relatively few mods. I’m sure it can handle anything I’d throw at it stock, but I like the idea of protecting vulnerable areas like the lower link mounts and body (sliders). I wouldn’t really have cared about crushing the stock tailpipe on the trail, but axle dumps are so easy to install and so readily available for these trucks I figured why not. As far as tires go, this should’ve been the stock size for TRD OR. For both looks and capability, 285 works so well.

Next on my list is some type of belly skid, likely the OEM from LC250 or similar. Lights may come down the road, along with an ARB rear bumper. So far I haven’t had any issues with angles on the trail, but that rear looks really good on the TH.

I absolutely love everything about this truck EXCEPT the tiny fuel tank. As soon as a reputable long range replacement hits the market, I’ll be first in line.

I recently told someone this is my dream car and they thought that was lame, but honestly for my needs and preferences there’s nothing else in the world I’d rather drive!
