The bracket sits around the factory tailgate hinge area and adds another physical obstacle to quick removal.

For owners who regularly park outside, travel, camp, or leave the truck in public parking areas, it’s a simple way to add another layer of security without changing the tailgate itself.

Open and Close the Tailgate as Usual

Once installed, the protector stays in place and does not interfere with normal tailgate operation.

There’s no need to remove it every time you open or close the tailgate.

Removal Tool Included

We also include a 10mm L-shaped socket wrench, so if you ever need to remove or adjust the protector, you already have the tool on hand.

Looks like a copy of the Cali-raised I bought. As long as the coating is good I'd highly recommend either. Easy to install and remove as long as you have the security torx bit.

I put the same on my truck. Took off the bolt months later and cleaned rust off the washer.

Yes I get that. Water runs out right there so I should put some sort of grease or silicone spray to repel water.
