I installed an all-new SS6 Pro lightbar kit for the fog lamps on my personal 2024 Tacoma. The latest bars are completely redesigned from the ground up.

Thanks for the video! Can you post some pictures of the SS6 fogs installed but turned off? I'd like to see how well they fit into the bumper openings. All the photos/videos I've seen have the fogs turned on or the backlights on so it's hard to tell just how well they fit.

I can gladly grab some additional images on my truck, but here is one captured by our media team that might not have made it onto the website. They're a perfect fit, quite literally!

To kind of tag into this thread, any idea when the yellow SS6s will be shipping out?

Thank you! It looks like they fill up the bumper openings nicely.

A bit more of an undertaking than the install video would have you believe, but they look sick.
How difficult was it to adjust the aim of them once installed? Not really liking the performance of the AlphaRex double taps and I have been looking around for an alternative that is brighter.

Not hard. The instructions provide a rough torque spec for the mounting bolts - basically tighten enough so that you can still push from the outside to adjust the aim.

FWIW, I still love them.

I got my SS6 fogs installed yesterday. The new optics have a really nice, sharp cutoff. They also just look really good and have an OEM+ vibe... like the light bars were designed with Toyota fitment in mind. I wired the backlights to Aux 3 in case I ever want to use them. Can't wait to get some heavy rain or fog to really try them out.

With that said, I think others would benefit from an update to the install instructions/video by Diode Dynamics.
  • Install video at 1:30 shows them pull the felt inner fender liner out of the two plastic clips on the inner fender. DO NOT DO THIS. It was so hard to get the felt back in those clips (and did not go back in perfectly). The clips can be removed with a trim tool and stay attached to the felt inner liner. I learned this as I worked to get the felt back inside them.
  • Install video says the wires (pigtails) must be to the outer side, but the new SS6's have plugs, not pigtails. I thought one bar might have to be flipped, but it turns out they do fit without flipping and both plugs are aligned to the right (when facing the front of the truck).
  • Install video says the lights should be as rearward as possible in the mounting brackets, but on the new bars this leaves a large gap between the light bar and the fog light fascia. I found somewhere around the middle created a good fit between the light bar and fascia without an overly large gap, but still enough room for adjustment.

I watched your install video and you seem to leave them loose enough to adjust once the front end is put back together, but can you then further tighten the mounts so the lights do not move?

Which power level did you choose?

I went with the "sport" power level. I sit in a lot of traffic and didn't want the lights to be obnoxious to the people in front of me. In hindsight, the cutoff is good enough that it probably didn't matter. Regardless, even the sport power level is a significant improvement over the OEM fogs.

Cool, thank you. I’m getting these but real world brightness is hard to tell from pictures.

Thank you for the feedback! The installation video is using our original SS6 fog lamps compared to the mentioned all-new SS6 fog lamps in this thread. We'll be sure to put in a word to the media team, as a new installation video would be worth capturing.
