Hey all,
Looking at a Super Pacific camper, and wondering how others have found the wind noise and MPG after install. Is a roof rack or fairing necessary to keep it tolerable? I appreciate any input!

I can't speak for the Super Pacific. I have a Dirtbox Overland. Yes, I have wind noise, mostly at the back of the cab. I installed a Prinsu roof rack with a deflector. I also have a 3 gallon Rotopax on the roof rack which I'm sure doesn't help my cause. The deflector helped, but I still have noise. I don't consider it a problem. The deflector helped the mileage a tiny bit. Your MPG will suffer a whole lot. I get 16-17mpg.

Topo Topper here. Similar experience as @Pappy I do not have a deflector, but noise did increase for sure. Sounds like my wife's Jeep now. MPG average over a few months of mixed driving is 16.9mpg per the computer with 33s. Haven't done the napkin math.

New tune m1 - wider and longer overhang than the super pacific, wind noise level is about the same as the oem roof rack.

mpg’s on a 1500mile trip was 16.2, at i5 and 101 hwy speeds.

looking at a fairing, not enough room to keep the oem rack.

Thanks @Pappy and @TacoBirdinNW. Sort of as expected. I don’t need the rack space, but wouldn’t mind a fairing or rack if it helps reduce the noise a bit.
I've found a solution to combat the wind noise created by a roof rack, my wife has a 34 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness with the sunroof and cargo rack that created a lot of wind noise. I bought a not sure what to call it, but
It's like a rain guard on the side of your truck, but works on the front of the sunroof.
Even better, the same wind guard from Subaru works on my 24 Tacoma, OR with the sunroof.
After I installed it on the truck, it practically eliminated all the noise from the sunroof.
Food for thought 🤔
