I have a trailhunter and upgraded to 285/75 tires. It seems to hang low in the spare spot. What all have you done? Has it held up with no problems?

It’s definitely low hanging fruit! If I know it’s going to get serious I take it down and throw it in the bed.

Ive heard people running 255/75 or 255/80 because they are pizza cutters and dont hang lower but still has the same diameter. I have not upgraded tires yet put I am considering this as an option.

I had my 285/70-17 on a stock TRD-OR rim underneath for a short time. I hated it. It was too low, and a royal pain to drop down and pull out. That was in the driveway. I could not imagine having to drop the wheel in the weeds.

My spare now lives on a rear swing out (Victory 4x4). It's a heavy MOFO getting it up there. But, I would rather have it on the bumper than on the ground.
