Thoughts on what Toyota is going to do with the ISODynamic Seats?

I’m interested to hear what you all think about what Toyota is going to do in the future with the IsoDynamic seats in the new TRD Pro?

It seems like most people have a fairly negative opinion about it. My guess is that Toyota will either remove them from the Tacoma, or sell it as an option rather than part of the TRD Pro package.

I wish I was given the choice as an option. I wouldn’t have ordered them.

It seems like this is the general consensus…. I would’ve done the same.

Honestly with how much R&D Toyota put into the seats, I doubt they remove them from the TRD Pro for some time.

Unpopular opinion.

I’d think if you were doing fast desert running (which is what the pro is designed for) the iso seats would be awesome. If you don’t want the iso seats, chances are you don’t do much of that type of driving anyway. Why not save some money and go with a hybrid Off Road premium?

So, I see lots of hate for these seats. I might have passed on them also if that was an option. I guess that could change in the future because although the Pro is optimized for high speed off roading, it should do just fine as a rock crawler too.

But what makes you not like the seats? The appearance, reduced rear legroom, overkill? Or something else?

I believe you lose power recline or something like that as well? I forget…you loose an adjustable power option in some direction on the seat.

Yeah - I get that. It would be nice to custom tailor you Taco to just what you want. I don't see Toyota changing this unless the seats hold back sales of the Pro though. Making those seats optional on other trims is a great idea and that could happen in the future.

I would make my dream Pro an access cab with no back seat and a 6 foot bed, and we will never get to make choices like that IMO.

Not really sure what seats I would get if I had the choice. I live in the country where most secondary roads are barely paved and very rough. Those seats could be a benefit both on and off road where I live.

Yeah - the IsoDynamic seats lose power recline. I guess there is just not enough room in them to keep that feature. Another reason why making them optional would be a plus.

I guess I’ll have to reserve judgement until I actually get to sit in them and drive the truck. Maybe I’ll be surprised. More back seat room would have been nice but 90% of the time it’s just the wife and I.

That is how I feel too. I don't think we will have a better idea about these seats until either we own a Pro or we see more owner's reviews.

I have a four door Tundra and I can count on one hand the number of times I have had back seat passengers, so that is not a big deal for me. No midsize truck has ever had a large or comfortable rear seat IMO.
