Transparent dealer for new Tacoma in NC?

I am looking to buy a new Toyota Tacoma. I have been shopping online but I keep running into these dealer addons (LED emblem, door edge guard, etc) that drive up the price. Not to mention mandatory protection packages and nitrogen filled tires on new and used cars. Does anyone have a recommendation for a straightforward transparent Toyota dealership within 2 hours of Raleigh, if one even exists?

You'll need to get out of the SET dealers to avoid all the BS addons and protection packages.

Best bet is VA, WV, TN, or KY to find something.

It's been discussed rather extensively on this forum and others. Best bet is to be willing to purchase out of the SET area.

I live in NW FL and was in the same boat as you a year ago. Thankfully I was in DC a lot last year for work and started looking to see what was around. Lookup Dan Cava Toyota in White Hall West Virginia and ask for Joe. The town is so small and seems too good to be true but man they were great. Got a TRD Off Road Premium last year for $6000 below MSRP. Only added option was the bed scene lighting but that was added by Toyota at the factory. No other PIO. Also wanted to add that you will need to fly into Morganstown, which is 20 minutes away. However, I found a cheap one way from DC for $70 and the Uber was $40 to the dealership. Best part was I did everything over the phone and when I walked in they had my paperwork waiting. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes.

Tell your salesman. All the BS add ons are forcing me to shop elsewhere. A few have had success getting many of the add ons taken off the price.

Never in my life would I have ended up there if it weren’t for this truck. Honestly it was a great experience all around and I am glad I bought from that dealer. I did not take the interstate for the first 750 miles, and I was able to see areas of the country I never knew existed. So, OP if you have the time to drive back from somewhere then I highly recommend doing so.

I live in Raleigh and ended up ordering my 24 Tacoma TRD Sport from Courtesy Toyota in Tampa and they shipped it up to me. I had a deal on a TRD Off-road from Bayside Toyota in Prince Frederick Maryland but they sold it to someone else even though I committed to buying it the next morning. Bad experience. I searched on Toyota.com to find ones without all the extras and added Katzkin seats, Lomax bed cover, and side steps. Now I miss my 4runner and will eventually buy a 4runner or Land Cruiser.

How is my old ARB sport bar working out for you or did you get rid of it?

I ended up sending out emails to a dozen dealers today. A few got back to me. Three worked out decent deals. I actually ended up at Fred Anderson Toyota of Raleigh. I think I got a good price and all negotiation was done via email and text. I guess being so close to the end of month and buying off the lot helped.
