So I’m trying to install these fang lights and was my working my way through the 10 mm bolts everywhere, until I noticed the bumper near the fender is slightly different than that of all the other trims/videos of bumper removals I’ve seen…

I found the red pin that some people have mentioned and pushed that down/disengaged, but I cannot for the life of me pull the bumper off from the frame (red circle). I’ve attached some pictures I found online, but was hoping someone from here could provide some tips or insight….$10 Venmo to the person with the silver bullet answer haha. Thanks!

You really have to pull on that hard to get it to release. You are going to think it’s too much force but it will pop off. I remember messing with it for awhile wondering how to get it off. I think swift, hard pulls is the key. Slowly pulling on it didn’t work for me.

Ya it’s definitely a hard yank, but also remember to pop out the portion nearest to the fender perpendicularly to the vehicle before yanking the bumper forward.

Did you find that removing the fender flares helped?

Ya it keeps them from flapping back into place lol. Make sure you got the fasteners that hide at the corners. I forget the exact memory but there was def a hex bolt hiding over there on each side.

Thanks for the tips. I guess i just need to be a bit more deliberate when pulling.

Try watching the Yota Xpedition dudes. In some of their videos, they show all bits removed in order to take off the front bumper cover.

I watched their bumper removal video, but they seem to pull off the sides fairly effortlessly, whereas on mine I feel like im going to snap the plastic lol

I shined a flashlight while pulling the bumper and could see some clips. I used a plastic pry tool to disengage the clips and it came right off. Like what was said above, you could also just pull really hard. I was just too afraid to break those clips. I imagine i'll be pulling off the whole bumper a few more times until I get the look the way I want.
