First and foremost I would like to state this is just my personal experience. I have met the guys at UpTop and they seem like really great guys, but their products are lacking in quality which I’m sure they’ll get better with time.

I purchased the Kilo roof rack, handles, scene lights, mid bed rack with small accessories.

I had a few shipping issues with damaged products which they were more than happy to replace.

They seem to have a cookie cutter type process where one fits all. I ran into issues with this with my 24 Tacoma TRD pro. The bed rack didn’t fit quite right. I sent photos and all hoping for some help, but they really didn’t have an answer. I was maxed out on my bed cargo rails for their mounts. I took a trip to Colorado and met with them to show them my issues. They sold me more parts to maybe mitigate the bed and ikamper mini 3 issues. After getting home I found their solution didn’t match up. I contacted them to get a reply of it fit on other models. Ended up having to cut the side rails, drill various holes in a premade product that was supposed to to fit. Along with getting parts reloaded coated.

Then came the rust. They put part numbers into their pieces. Makes sense for quick packing and replacement ordering. They don’t etch them, they cut them all the way through. Then they don’t get powder coated correctly and the inside of the iron rust. So many of my part numbers are dripping rust on a $70,000 dollar truck.
This is just a warning to anyone who is thinking about going with their products. Please be aware of quality control issues and contact them prior to ordering to make sure they have been addressed.

this pic alone tells me a bit.. the cutouts for the logo for staters, that's an extremely hard area to blast and paint or powdercoat without having rust come back

and in the radius it either looks like metal fault like delamintion or it was overbent somehow or a little bit of both

Yeah. It’s heartbreaking after paying thousands for a product to get this in the end. I’ve had it maybe 8-9 months.

definitely a gut punch, but this is what happens when stuff isn't properly prepped before powdercoat, would be nice if they stood behind their product, but good on you for the heads up

Appreciate this post. Was debating but now for sure going prinsu. Cost more but buy once cry once. And the dynamic load capacity for the pro is double the uptop rack.

Interesting! Good to know. I'm super interested in their bed stiffeners as they don't require any drilling. Wonder if they suffer from the same fate.

I couldn’t tell you boss. I went with RagoFab on my bed stiffeners.

That's very worrisome. My bed rack is on order from them, so it feels too late to back out now. Also, they have a feature that I haven't really seen elsewhere, which is the variable height of the cross bars. I definitely appreciate the heads up @BuriedFriend.

I would definitely reach out to them. Shoot send them a link to this thread as well so they will see word is getting out. It would be better to take the 10% cancel order loss than 100% loss like me. I’m debating on buying something else or taking this completely apart and taking it to my powder coater to get him to weld in the part number and powder coat it again.
