Was it hard to remove the mirror? I tried before and accidentally dropped a nut into the door. Lucky it fell all the way down within a few days and I was able to retrieve it.
I removed the long rattley piece in the door frame by the hinges. Nothing with the mirror

Dealer now padded window track mounting bracket. Was good at first, but rattle is still there. Does anybody know if the window track mounting bracket is easy to access? Would love to fix it myself, hate all these trips to the dealership. Or know a part number where I could track down an exact location of the bracket?

For the whistle - did you remove the chin trim up front. That creates a nice whistle from the exposed holes on the frame. Search this forum for details.

25 ORP, you have no idea how grateful I am that you shared this. I had the same rattle that only happened going 50+ mph. I've tried diagnosing it myself and tried taking it to the dealer. They told me it was wind noise from my ditch lights 🙄

The rattle really drove me crazy when highway driving. It was the one thing that bothered me about a truck I otherwise love. I was starting to debate whether or not this was a deal breaker issue in terms of me keeping the truck long term.

After watching your video I located that piece of plastic trim on my driver's side door and sure enough it was loose like yours in the video. I shoved some foam tape in there and boom, the rattle is GONE!!! I am so relieved.

Thank you so much for sharing that video. If you're ever in Sacramento hit me up and I'll buy you a beer. Heck I'll buy you a case of beers and a steak dinner!!
Good evening everyone. I’m experiencing a very similar rattle from the driver’s side dash area. It sounds like it’s behind the dash but could be the A-pillar or door as well. The sound occurs at any speed running over uneven road surfaces.

I’m curious, Darth Taco, how and where did you apply foam tape without removing the piece behind the door hinge? Has anyone else successfully solved this without fully removing the part to apply foam?

Were you able to find a fix? I’m experiencing the same issues as well. It seems like it only occurs in the morning when it’s really cold and it sounds like it’s coming from either the door near the A pillar or the driver A/C vent. I just can’t figure it out and I’ve already taken the door panel off and gone thru behind the Aux panel area.

Check the triangle piece of plastic that is sandwiched between the mirror assembly and door. The hole of the part where the wiring goes through has a plastic clip that grabs the door and I’ve found that clip squeaks.

Remove the triangle trim on the door, put your finger on the plastic tab where the mirror wiring is and then tap on the door. If the sound goes away then you’ve found the culprit.

That was it for mine! As a matter of fact, the plastic "holders" were out slightly. I pushed them back in and the rattle is completely gone. My truck is going to the dealer next week and the service guy was insisting it might not be a warranty thing and I might be on the hook for the diagnosis. (Really?) I'm glad you helped my find it prior to dropping off the truck.

The dealership thinks they have solved the riddle. Here it is .....
It was none of my guesses and nothing I had seen before on Tacoma4G or Tacomaworld
Makes sense with speed activation.
