What a gross mislabel. Sound dampening, ok. Sound PROOF? By definition that would imply I can't hear the engine at all after installating.

I bought for a few reasons ....

- Protect the bottom side of the hood from spatters, Belt slung fluids, grease, etc. IT would be a bitch to have to clean the under side of the hood it if it gets sprayed with a leaking fluid in under the hood and dripping from all the holes.
- Some times the top of hood paints get heat damaged and discolor etc.
- Looks better IMO
- Easy to add / remove and replace as needed ...
- Might help with some noise. The normal engine sounds are fine - sometimes the tires/road noise filter into the cab - and I thought this may help dampen the vibs/noise.

JMO. Mine will be delivered Monday. From past install comments I'm going to install the rearm center most attachment points as they can be a bear if the last ones to install.....

I installed the mat this week. I didn't change the before/after decibel level inside the cabin when idling but it did cut down the injector noises.

I would recommend and the install was easy peasy.
