Hood Vibrating Fix! (Weather Stripping / Rubber Trim Seal)

So I got to solve the hood vibration with the help of a member ordered this and installed it no more vibrating hood.

Here is what it looks like installed, got it from Amazon.

True, and that makes you wonder why Toyota doesn't just fix this themselves. I saw that Taco sales are up for last quarter, so maybe they just don't care.

Does this hinder air flow or air temp that could affect turbo performance in anybway? There may be a performance reason for why they chose to do it like that.

Nicely done! I doubt it does too much to affect engine temps, but worth keeping an eye on for a week or two to be safe. Curious if there's a change in temp, if any at all.

I could always remove the outer ones and keep the center one, that will work as well OCD just kicked in and trying to keep it uniformed.

I went with enough to fit between the washer nozzles

I think that might be enough to stop the shake and I don't see how it would change anything about how air flows under the hood. Let us know how that goes please.

7’ it is, going to give it a try after work

It’s way easier to get a nice cut off the truck I went with 13 1/2”, 21 3/4” and 13 1/2" in order from left (passenger) to right (driver)

I brought 7’ home, there’s still another bit left so if you ordered the 10’ of 1/2" bulb seal from Amazon you could almost do two trucks

Also FYI this type of seal is metal ribbed, you need a decent set of tin snips to cut through it, also the exposed ends left after cutting will rust and drip below to beware if you don't rip them out with channel locks or pliers of some sort, maybe fluid film for good measure to keep all the rust away

Edit, finally tested over the speed bumps in my neighbourhood and it seems to soak up 75% of the shake, definitely a huge improvement, I’ll test more this weekend as I’m driving 3 hours down the province
