I recently bought my 2025 in late January. It hit dealer sometime around September 2025. shortbed with minimal addons (tailgate badge, ppf, and door edge protectors.) Total addons was like 500 bucks. It was priced 6.7k below sticker bringing it to somewhere at around 59K. I don't think i was going to get it lower than that.

The trailhunter trim is also exempt from Toyota special incentives on financing and leasing, not sure why you would want to lease one, but regardless, a TRD Off Road premium had 2.99% vs the 5% i had to get from my bank. If they had the offroad premium hybrid, i probably would have gotten that. I really just wanted the cameras and upgarded interior, but rockbottom pricing i could find on an off road premium hybrid was like 54-55k. I figured 4k was worth the upgraded suspension, compressor, skids, and rockrails.

All this to say, I kind of upsold myself because the feature set i wanted required the premium trim, and from there it was hybrid or not. And I wanted the hybrid because of the upgraded power invertor as well. Except it turns out a lot of people want those features so it was hard to get, except they had a trailhunter for 4k more and i said fuck it. Let's have a proper midlife crisis, sign me up for an MMA gym, where's some drywall to punch?

. . . 99.9% of all vehicles, with snorkels, are never used for that purpose, just like most people never take their 4WD vehicles off road.
New meaning to the term all for show and not for go, and they don’t have any idea of what they’re missing..

I find I use my compressor a lot around town. People have flat tires everywhere for some reason or a low tire. The 2400 W electrical power in the truck is also a big deal to me while day driving and recharging my batteries that run my refrigerator/freezer, starlink, and lights at night while camping off grid

There's one up on my local marketplace for $58K with 5K miles. Idk if that's a good deal, but it's been sitting there for over a month.
@ridetime probably right about hype fade. Obviously different scale, but same reason you pretty much gotta give away those TRD off road wheels now (in my area anyways)
That one looks like the definition of buyers remorse.
I live in the PNW, and have seen the add.
It makes me appreciate my 41k off road.

I would assume you're talking about this one: Trailhunter.

Not terribly priced, but could still take more off. Might get a buyer as those tax returns hit lol
That vehicle is double-charged on the wireless camera system. They have the prior year $850 description and price and the newer year $1550 description and price for the same thing originally installed by factory or in port. And it’s a 5 foot bed. Big fat nope. Agree, they should have marked it down more. That was the same marked down from mid year when I bought mine. And they’re trying to add a bunch of dealer garbage on top.

For the uninformed, the snorkel is for water crossing, something a “limited” pavement princess literally could not survive
That snorkel is a high mount air intake to help keep the air filter clean when in a very dusty zone or behind another vehicle kicking up dust. Can confirm it is not for high-level water crossings.

One thing is certain, it is not deep water as in a Grenadier. And there is the fact that any water intrusion in the cab runs the risk of the electric battery (hybrid) under the rear seats. That area is definitely not sealed by the doors. Remember all the Tesla’s catching fire down in Fort Myers from the flooding of hurricane Ian?

It’s price. Period. At 55 it would sell like hotcakes. I paid 48 for my 55k Msrp longbed, I’d gladly pay 7k more for hybrid trailhunter. I ended up making my own Pro Hunter.

I agree đź’Ż. Or the Trailhunter trim was completely unnecessary. Most of the things that make the Trailer hunter are dealer or manufacturer add ons and accessories to any TRD premium trim.

The off-road premium hybrid is what I was originally looking at and would have likely gone that route if the Dealer had any. Financing is likely better too as you can take advantage of TFS special incentives.

Trail hunter trim comes directly from the factory in Mexico, not from any dealer or distributor, and they have nothing to do with “TRD“ trim. Trailhunter is a separate category from TRD. See my attached vehicle sticker; two things were added by the distributor, roof rack and the bed coating. I didn’t pay for either of them.

Special incentives and financing is true on the TRD series. No special financing on the trail hunter series. My dealer where I bought it told me the reason was if somebody want it, the buyer will figure how to pay for it without special financing. Which is another way of saying, if you have to ask the price, you probably can’t afford it. But I did finance it through southeast Toyota finance at a very good rate and purchase price since over the last 40 years I have paid for eight Toyotas through them.

My co-worker got a pretty deep discount a few months ago on a 2025 Trailhunter. He went to the dealer looking for a Pro and they talked him into a TH as they had about 5 sitting on the lot they couldn't move. I am not surprised though - the pricing on the TH trim in Canada was never going to result in big sales.

Yup, Dealer mentioned the TH was excluded from the normal financing incentives. I think the lowest TFS would go was 6.99% when i was looking. Ended up just going through my bank for a lower rate. When i was first looking, because the TH sits next to the TRD-PRO, i kind of thought of the TH as like a TRD-TH or something, took me a while through my research to realize it was considered separate from the TRD line. We don't get the sick red start/stop button either.

I thought about replacing my start/stop button with a red one.and getting those isometric seats. But then I thought why would I do that? It’s like Tacoma owners putting Ford raptor lights in the grill. Why would you want your Tacoma to look like a Ford raptor?

2024 Tacoma Trailhunter - 6' Bed - Bronze Oxide
I waited six months to get my Trailhunter back in 2024. I wanted a Tacoma hybrid with a long bed, the Trailhunter was the choice. Probably overkill for my mission: Fly Fishing all over the PacNW. I have no regrets, love my truck.
I ordered my TH in June of 2023 as soon as they were announced and picked it up in October 2024. I had the same situation. I wanted a long bed, and a hybrid, and I wanted some off road goodies. I too use it for flyfishing and hunting in BC, Canada.

I don't live to far from you. I'm on southern Vancouver Island.
