I traded my 2024 Gladiator for a TH. I was getting tired of 12 mpg and replacing the AUX and Main battery every year. Lots of good things about the Gladiator, but look at the all the repair issues/complaints on the Gladiator forum. I was left on the highway/freeway twice because of a failed AUX battery. Off-road, the Gladiator is probably a bit better, but not by much.

Man I feel you. Except I get about 10.5 in my 392 Rubicon highway or city take your pick. But my main complaint isn't the $75 of premium fuel to fill it, it's the fact that you have about 200 miles of real world driving range. The 392 needs a 30 gallon tank in the worst way.

The Tacoma even with its small tank is a big improvement. I only drive the Rubicon about 5000 per year since getting the Tacoma. Still the fun factor is off the chart, nothing like letting the big dog eat!

Had a friend that wanted to know if he could borrow my trailer to go to Houston and then he wanted to know what time I would pick him up. He didn't want to drive his Gladiator for the trip Ugh no thanks. Now I know why.

Honestly, too much $ for what it is imho.

If I end up needing more than what a OR can do, I’ll just not go there or I’ll mod it better than a TH. I do all my own work, so shop labor isn’t an issue for me.

I don’t ford rivers, so there’s that.

As someone who has been shopping new Tacoma's and other Toyota 4x4's lately the Trailhunter is so close to the ideal factory spec for me with the OME suspension, no sunroof, interior appointments, and onboard air but I strongly dislike snorkels so that forced option alone kills it for me. The Pro is also a non starter with the fake hood scoop and TRD branding seemingly everywhere you look. Just my old man taste here but Toyota's have always looked best with less.

They do be expensive. 6’ LB hybrid, went for it said fck it, my last truck I’ll own, haven’t bought a truck since 2001. Love this trim, no complaints. The dealer I bought from had TH on the lot, dealership owner drove it around as his daily driver so maybe that unit on the lot has some miles on it from management.

All things being equal this rig & buildout is a bargain compared to a loaded Sprinter van - which is my next rig. probably selling the TH in 5-7 years for a LC.

you could buy a non snorkel fender and have it painted. then you would have a unique TH

The glass is acoustic laminated. You can’t hear the snorkel with the windows up & music at a normal level.

Not a snorkel, thing isn’t truly water tight and the MAF sensor gets wet you’re toast. It’s a high intake, extends the life & cleaning cycles on the TRD Pro filter - because yes even the TH gets the TRD pro accoutrements even though toyota didn’t stamp the bejesus out of it all over truck like they do on that Pro. šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

Some dealerships have tested it can cross 36ā€ up 40ā€ standing water. Yota engineers quiet about this

TH wheels ironically are lighter than the Pro. Unbolt the sliders and skids during the offseason. Slap on the rocker deflectors and you have a Pro sans the tunable FOX shocks and of course the old-fart air ride seats.
