Hey @The T Rav , sorry one more question. Were new UCA's necessary with this kit? the install instructions on kings site show stock UCA's but just curious if you knew if there would be any conflict between the springs and stock UCA's at full droop.
all good man, they weren’t necessary. I only used them because of the increase in caster they offer. Helps keep the truck tracking straight after lifting the front end.
Also, the only compatibility issues I’ve encountered with the Hybrid vs non-hybrid is shock tuning, spring rate and wheel diameter. Everything else is the same as a TRD Off-Road non-hybrid. The wheels I put on my truck are actually spec’s for a TRD Off-road as they’re 17”. Only because there are more tire options for 17” wheels over 18” wheels.

Bit of an update…

Installed the Icon Triple rate springs and lost 3/4 of an inch in height…

Scratched my head for a bit and then realized just how stupid I was.
Damn. Wish I came across your build sooner... I have an Off Road Hybrid on order (hope to have it in a week) and have been buying parts for the past month. Doing the full King suspension along with Total Chaos rear links, UCAs etc. Running a full size spare (35s) in the bed and a heavy after market bumper in the back. Occasionally tow a boat and like a little rake. Thinking Id want some rear springs I reached out to several people who have built trucks and settled on Eibach Coil Springs that were supposed to give me an inch of lift. Almost went with the triple rate Icon springs too. Never even considered the extra weight of the Hybrid. 2024+ Tacoma was all I looked for. Now Im guessing the springs I bought will be similar to the stock springs - or perhaps even less since they are supposed to handle an additional 200lbs. over the axle. SMH.

So you aren't the only stupid one... I never even considered the extra weight of the hybrid. Most of these suspension parts websites don't differentiate between hybrid and non hybrid. Now I'll have a couple new springs (that I even put a ceramic coat on) to sell I assume. Will try out the stock springs and if I don't have any rake maybe try the next size up of Eibach springs that are rated for 400lbs over the rear axle.

Now Im also concerned about my King set up. So it sounds like you had different front springs put on and you had the shocks tuned differently? I again just ordered the shocks without thinking about the extra hybrid weight. And Im adding a new front bumper and winch to the front. How much preload did you set your fronts at? Doesn't look like much. Mine came from king with only about 1/2" (5 threads) showing. Guessing I'll want at least 1.5". Ugh.

so what i found when researching suspension is no manufacturer actually makes kit ready suspension for hybrid models. I was talking to a shop near me and they called a bunch of big brands and they all told him that their suspension kits for the 4th gen tacoma are specifically for non-hybrid models. I further confirmed with toyota that the suspension in the OR hybrid and non-hybrid are indeed different part numbers. Now that doesnt tell us much (e.g. spring rates or shock specs) all it says is that they are different in some way. The only brand i found that DID specify was Eibach pro-truck-lift kit which specifically says "non-hybrid" on their website. On the other hand, there is one company that actually does specify hybrid model, and that is the Westcott preload collar (which says it fits the pro). I am not sure what The T Rav has done, but the kings kit is still designed for the non-hybrid model, you can get around this by adding preload, it would just be similar to a non-hybrid with a heavy steel bumper i guess. There really is no good option right now it seems for the hybrid owners

I assume you stayed with the standard 500# springs up front on your coil overs? I can't tell from your photos. Without a winch/aftermarket bumper you are probably good with the 500# I assume

Anyway he suggests since I already have my shocks that I stick with the standard 500# springs, add some preload and see how it sits. If it looks like the springs aren't enough then bump up to the 600#. Having the Hybrid and running a heavy front bumper with a winch and pretty heavy rock sliders will result in getting different springs Im thinking but will see. Annoying but thats how it goes.

Called King back and spoke to someone else who seemed a lot more knowledgeable and said I should definitely get 600# springs. So I purchased them. King will refund me when I send in my existing 500# springs I just pay for shipping.

I havent done any suspension modifications to mine yet. But from this conversation im leaving heavily into going with Kings, maybe youre thinking of The T Rav?

My mistake... Yes I was thinking you were the OP.
since i commented last, i actually have a significant revelation and update. So im currently talking with an off road accessories store that neighbours the dealership and they do all the aftermarket procurement and installs for the dealer. I brought up the back spring issue and he said that the 3/4" height difference makes sense for a couple reasons, one is that the trd OR actually has higher rear suspension already than other models, something like 1/2", so right there youve lost an expected 1/2" lift since it was already there, then the extra weight of the hybrid makes it compress a little more.

HOWEVER... since both the front and the rear suspension is tuned for the non hybrid models anyways, you should see approximately equal extra compression in the front and the back. And since the curb weight of the hybrid vs non-hybrid is only like 300-400 lbs, its no different than having a little extra weight from accessories on a non-hybrid model.

So the conclusion me and the guy at the shop came to was that ANY suspension upgrade is going to have improvement over stock. and if you are planning to add more accessories on top further increasing weight, then you can still go for fully adjustable systems like the kings and have them tuned, or if needed get a stiffer spring (OR get an additional spring spacer for the rear). but the preload adjustments should be more than enough.

At the end of it all, i am likely going to go with the full Eibach pro-truck-lift stage 2 system. The eibach comes with variable force valves which seem to make it more versatile on and off road. Really for me i just dont think i need the king system for my needs.

I just wish the eibach components were blue lol
