Fortunately my state “ditched” the front plate before I bought my 2024 Sport so I have a clean unobscured front plastic bumper.44,000 dollar truck you'd think a proper license plate bracket would be installed at factory?
There is a part for the front plate to mount to its just not installed by default in places that dont need it. #75101-AK010.Mine had 2 holes in front with 2 lag screws put on by the dealer I guess so they could display their dealer plates. Seems a crude way of mounting. I put my own plates on with the plastic frame and the holes strip out very easy in plastic bumper cover or whatever you call where you mount the plate.
Idk if they even really care in WA. I never put the front plate on my Ioniq5 and had it for 2 years with no issues. Got pulled over speeding when I absolutely pinned it to get out of an HOV lane to avoid that $3 fee (that turned into $300) and passed a cop at the perfect timeTossed the front plate under the passenger side floor matt when I installed the Backwoods offroad high clearance front bumper.
This way I have it in case I get pulled over. It's one of many little things cop's can use to pull you over in Washington.

In CA not having a front plate is cause to pull you over, it's no longer a secondary offense. Sucks.Tossed the front plate under the passenger side floor matt when I installed the Backwoods offroad high clearance front bumper.

When I bought my Ioniq the Hyundai salesman tried telling me "Since there are no mounting points, and it came like this from the factory, you don't legally have to have it installed" but salesman and dealers don't know shit about anything. Our jeep salesman tried telling us that jeep cloth seats are designed to be hosed off with a garden house. Complete idiots. I mean, dude, the Toyota dealer can't even tell me how how long the OEM M12 bolts are for the recovery points...Still is an offense to pull you over in Washington. As well. IDGAS my front plate is under the passenger floor matt.
Like the dealer told me if there's no place to mount it then, it wasn't intended to be there. I don't drive like an a******.So I really don't worry about it.
But thanks for pointing it out..
Right and keeping your front plate under your floor mat to present to an officer doesn't mean squat. Nor does "not driving like an asshole", like Mr. Fund my chruch retreat after my 25K+ in mods pointed out. When I bought my Ioniq the Hyundai salesman tried telling me "Since there are no mounting points, and it came like this from the factory, you don't legally have to have it installed" but salesman and dealers don't know shit about anything. You can file for an exemption for the front plate from WSP on certain vehicles (mostly classics) but it's rare that they grant it. Plenty of plateless drivers in WA, but now that our law enforcement officers are permitted to enforce the law again, it just takes one who officer who takes his job seriously to make your day really expensive ! Especially near the cities...
But again I rolled 2 years no front plate with no issues! I just don't risk it anymore.
