A/C clutch failure; will now be the 3rd fix attempt in 2,500 miles. At a loss for words.

Maybe try a different Toyota dealer near you. They told me that they weren’t 100% sure the compressor was the problem. So I told them I saw people had similar issues on Tacoma forums online and they determined it was the “AC clutch”. They reached out to Toyota and Toyota told them to start with replacing the compressor and to go from there. And I haven’t heard a chirp since that was replaced.

Ive had three things replaced so far, so honestly I’m just gonna give up. I was told the technician started 2 other tacomas on the lot and they did the same chirp. Corporate knows about it and they said I would know ASAP if they found a solution or released a TSB. Time will tell.

I have the same issue with my 2024 TRD Sport, manual transmission. Happens with the AC on and off, worse with a cold start (not actually needing to be cold outside, but just if the engine hasn't run for a bit).

My truck has been to the dealer now 4 times including being left there for 3 weeks for them to troubleshoot deeper. As others have mentioned, the techs have a hard time replicating the issue, however they did hear it once at the shop and I have a few recordings on my phone that I was able to show them.

They have replaced the serpentine belt and have brought up a few times about how there was some dirt in there that they cleaned that might be causing it etc.

I have had my truck over a year now with no resolution yet. I'll try calling Toyota directly to see if they have any thoughts, but hoping for a TSB so I can find a long term fix to this issue.

Agree that a brand new vehicle should not make noises like this and while I understood there may be some minor issues with this being the first year of a new gen, I expected them to be quickly addressed.

Update : I gave up on the truck and requested the dealer I bought it from buy it back; They bought it back and threw me into a 2023 4Runner for no cost.
