That's the first time I've noticed those two plastic pieces above the rear window.. are those coat hooks?

I used to take them out (middle one) or fold them down in my old F150. Folding them down got them low enough. Can’t comment yet on new Tacoma as I haven’t gotten it yet.

I removed the center one, and leave the others folded down. I'm almost tempted to have the two remaining made into speaker/enclosures to counter the overpowering center speaker on my JBL system.

Just tune down the center in the settings. I've seen multiple people comment on doing that.

I don't have a Tacoma so I can't test this myself, but virtually every vehicle now a days has a way to turn off the center display, and that is on top of the ability to dim the screen and control the contrast.

Edit: to turn the screen off, just hold down the power button. Easy peasy.

I've tried that, but it doesn't do much for me. The rear door speakers are way down low, firing into the carpet and the tight rear seat area, so that sounds gets lost in comparison to the the front center. You'll understand if you ever get the truck with that system.

I also removed them. Passengers complained about them being too far forward when installed. After removed, no complaints. Tucked them behind the rear seat backs. Will most likely toss them into a box.
