I've been looking into doing the factory lift on my Tacoma but was curious if anyone has already done it or purchased a TRD Off-Road with the factory lift. Any pros and/or cons?!

I wasn't keen on the ready lift that toyota was trying to sell me. So I asked them if they would install a king suspension, and they did for $$$
Food for thought

I too am interested in the factory lift. Toyota maintains stock on parts for its vehicles and a 1 year factory warranty too. I’m just not sure I’ll be able to get parts for an icon or other brands lift kits in 10 years. Would much rather go with the factory over aftermarket.
I am also curious if anyone with a factory lift has experienced the front end vibrations requiring an east coast gear supply bearing??

When Toyota installed my King lift they would only lift it 2in, to avoid the front end vibration. At first they wanted a axle drop kit and after they looked at the Icon dif drop they said I would have nothing but problems with front end vibration.
I have not experienced any front end vibration with the 2in that Toyota lifted it.
I will say I bought the East Coast Gear Supplies replacement. Because I'm going to re spring the front kings and it will raise it up to a point where I'll need the ECGS.

Interesting that they would only lift it 2” when the factory lift is listed as I think 3”.

Which king suspension did you go with? Did they warranty the work on it?

Yes, the labor is warrantined by Toyota for 1 year
Parts have manufacture warranty
Hope this helps.
1800$ install, that included the alignment and reprogram the computer sensors.

It was to avoid the vibration and the need to put in an, ECGS. Also, at the time there wasn't a good option to avoid the vibration, nd now there is. I'll keep everyone posted once.I have it installed, but that's going to be a while.Since i'm saving money for a mission trip.

Can you tell us what the vibration fix is besides the ECGS?

The obvious answer is, don't lift your truck. The realistic answer is I have no idea because I have not experienced the vibration yet. I bought the ECGS as a precaution, because I am respringing the front king coilovers from a 500 pound spring to a 650 pound spring to compensate for the bumper in winch and to get the extra inch that I didn't in the beginning.

Ouch! That's definitely $$$ for a lift + the install.

I bought mine with the factory lift, it looks and feels great, no weird noises or vibration issues, it performs perfectly on trails and streets, it might be on the stiff side of the spectrum compared to the Trailhunter, but I think it’s awesome

That’s great information. I am planning on a winch install with a hybrid bumper so the stiff front will help.
