Mine worked perfectly with an Amazon purchase. Not even close to a rub and doesn't hang over the fender either. They do have dozens of models out there and I might guess that the version you bought may not be aligned the same an OEM step. It might be fine for a truck without a recovery hook, but not with one using the bracket.

For reference this is the one I bought:
Rear Bed Step Tailgate Step Compatible with 2024 2025 Tacoma Folding Truck Step Retractable Rear Bumper Tailgate Bedstep Replace for PT392-35920

My truck has the OE/Toyota step - it was a port installed option. Hopefully the replacement bracket from SXTH solves the issue.

I have confidence tha that it will fit as the bracket was designed for it. The clones that deviated too much from the Toyota bracket are a crap shoot, but I assume most of them will still work.

I have the complete SXTH RRP setup w/relocate on my TH. No rub but I’m not impressed with its parallel alignment in relation to the ARB bumper once stowed. I guess you have to really look to notice it but for 3+ bones you’d think they get the cosmetics dialed.

That said, the SXTH hooks are really nice & far lighter than the ARB cast iron OEs on my TH

Mine has the same issue. It tilts right versus what I thought it should do and tilt left so it matches the bumper.

Did they take 5 weeks to ship? I’m gonna ask for a solid discount on the part that received or have them send me a replacement that actually looks good before leaving a review.

I measured, 2 degrees off to the right. It’s not completely awful just visually off therefore slightly irritating considering the cost and time it took for delivery.

I also had the problem with the fit between the plastic step and OEM recovery point. I ended up grinding about 1/8" off the back of the plastic step while tapering towards the front (don't think this will affect the step strength much) . This gave me the clearance for the step to swing into the stowed position without any rubbing.

I ordered the bracket around the 1st of July and just got it last week (after a CF shipping issue with SXTH). If I had know about the true time frame and then the slow boat from China shipping I wouldn't have purchased the bracket and would have forgone the recovery point and just rolled with the step.

Yeah, if this replacement fits poorly as well, they can have them both back, I’ll request a refund and just run the recovery point on the left side with step on the right.
