We installed a ReTrax Pro XR retractable aluminum cover. It has t-tracks so we can attach bed racks or crossbars although we aren’t planning to. I like that I can walk on it to get to the top of the truck for cleaning.
I use the open bed for landscape projects and junk hauling.
Would have gotten a cheaper BakFlip or the OEM but at 5’1” I’m too short to flip the sections while alongside the bed. My amiga has a Nissan Titan with BakFlip and I have to hoist myself onto the tailgate to flip the cover if helping them do things while camping. Ugh it cost me a tidy sum to buy a big truck as a runt. LOL

Edited to add pics of the cover retracted while I cleaned the bed last week.
The cat decided the cover was too clean when he inspected my exterior wash job.
Last pic is a shot from overhead with the cover closed.

I am in love with my diamondback HD. It’s amazing. The most durable truck product I’ve ever bought. I keep my guns, my laptop, my gear in the bed with no worry. I strap stuff to the top. The cleats look badass and fit the aesthetic of the truck. Could not be happier. But it’s pricey. It depends what your objectives are. I’ve also owned a LoMax that was less pricey, less secure but also worked well.

These are fantastic covers. My neighbor’s 3G Taco is bombproof with that cover. He’s in the Navy and camps some weekends.

I went with RealTruck’s BAK Revolver X4ts
I wanted something low profile, that didn’t completely block the rear window or infringe on bed volume, t-slot rails and compatible with a bed rack. Really happy with it.

I bought and installed 6 foot cover from E-bay for $90 including shipping. It fits and works like a charm and doesn't take away space.

$90 on eBay here too @Speedy Gonzales
Same drop ship stuff as the Amazon "brands".
I didn't put the weather stripping in at the bulkhead because I don't care about a full seal, but it leaks so little that I bet it would be water tight if I did.

I went with the tyger t1 or t3 soft roll up cover. I’ve had the same cover on multiple trucks I’ve owned in the past and never had any issues. Everyone’s needs are different. I don’t keep a lot of stuff in the bed so from a security standpoint that wasn’t high up on my list however it keeps my bed dry and wasn’t expensive. I absolutely could afford a better more expensive cover but this one has always worked for me with zero issues and only takes 15 minutes to put on. If I was gonna get a hard cover I’d probably just go for the Toyota one.
+1 for the Tiger roll up soft cover. Although it took me longer than 15 mins to install lol.

I went with the OEDRO FRP Hard Tri-fold Tonneau Cover. I dig it it is water tight and protects whatever I have in the bed. Camping gear ect.

+3 OEM...
I have had 3 different covers on 3 different Tacomas.
I think that the "Best T Cover" is the one that meets your requirements.
Why do you want a TC?
The answer to that simple question will determine the name of your choice.
If you just want a cover to keep the rain out of the stuff you carry permanently back there, then go for a cheap model that is easy to install and has a great price.
If you want to carry heavy weights on top, you must go for a metal cover.
If you want security, go for one you can lock effectively, etc, etc.
So, rather than tell you what I chose for my truck, the one that has answered all my needs, I advise you to sit and think hard about why you are putting one in BEFORE you hand over the cash.
Then search to see if there is one that will give you all you want, and go for it.

Had the Roll-N-Lock M Series for 25 years on my Dodge Dakota, held up great so I bought it again for my 2025 Tacoma TRD Off Road. One thing I like is when it's open all the way it doesn't block rear window, especially when you have rear facing dash cam? Another thing I like is you can leave it unlocked so thieves can open it to see there's nothing inside, otherwise they bring out the pry bar?
