I have a 2026 TRD pro Tacoma with just 35s on it right now. Been seeing some stuff about big turbo kits and tunes getting to 500 wheel .. does anyone know of a shop doing this in Orange County, CA ? I work for Toyota and my shop can install the turbo, but they definitely cannot tune it or anything like that. Also kind of thinking, has anyone seen any kind of dyno sheet? And is it even worth buying a turbo kit for 2500 bucks when you have no clue what the actual HP is gonna be? I also don’t want to buy a tune and then have to buy another one if this turbo kit turns out to be legit! I haven’t been able to get any kind of solid info, so if anyone knows please let me know !

OTT was speculating that the motor and turbo upgrade could be good for up to 500hp with some additional supporting mods. I believe that was utilizing a stage 3 tune, which they haven't even released the stage 2 yet.

The initial buzz around the turbo and downpipe has kind of worn off because they aren't yielding jaw-dropping gains.

You've got a few "affordable" mods that free up some power on these trucks, but after that, you're going to be paying a significant amount of $:hp.

@thedave97 - find a local Overland Tailor Tuner near you and have them install the OTT tune. You get free reflashes when they release revisions and updates. Otherwise, find a custom tuner and explain your intended path for the truck.

Seems like the move is just to tune it.. maybe a custom tuner if I can find one near me. Any other supporting mods to go along with the tune ? I have the TRD pro exhaust and intake since they come with the truck. But I’m wondering if there’s anything I can purchase with a custom tune to make some more power. Or if anyone has used a custom tuner in Orange County I’d love a recommendation!

My fault, just the turbo kit is like 2000-2600.. plus install plus tune plus I guess the mystery of how much HP you’ll actually have.
Nah im
Just messing with you but I don’t see these trucks making a lot of power and holding is safely I’ll say 400 tops but like the other guy said no one’s releasing dyno numbers at all that’s why I just ended up getting a ott tune

I think I’m in the same boat! I think I’m going to just try and find a custom tuner in my area, and maybe an intake if anyone has any recommendations

The tune will be your biggest gain dollar for dollar. The intercooler, exhaust, intake, radiator, etc. are all supporting mods that slowly add to the big picture.

I'd wait for the throttle body elbow and turbo inlet that are both being R&Dd right now. Those are each still around $300-500 if I'm not mistaken, and should contribute to more power.

The Stage 1 tune from OTT, which is the highest stage right now, is basically the "safe" tune for pretty much any platform. When they release the Stage 2, it will be tuned for supporting mods such as the intercooler, intake and exhaust.

In a year or so, the cost of the turbo and down pipe may come down a bit if more competition hits the market.

That makes a ton of sense. Since I already have an exhaust and intake from factory in the pro, do you think it’s worth getting those things upgraded along with the tune ? Or you think the tune will do everything I need ?

Leave it as it is I paid 650 and I think for a trd pro intake is 50 more where I went it’s worth it you won’t regret it I just got mine done like two weeks ago

Worth it is subjective. I do all the work on my truck myself, which I really enjoy, and I've gotten some insane deals on the mods that I have. If I had to pay retail for the Sxth Intercooler and AWE exhaust, I wouldn't have them.

I'd say if you can comfortably afford these parts, then yes, it's worth it. My truck is a blast to drive and sounds really good. I'll eventually be doing the turbo and downpipe - just going to give it a while before I make the leap.
