My truck: 2024 Limited Iforcemax, Full-time 4wd, Hybrid
Tune: CAMTuning OTS 91 Reflash

Impressions:

Torque. 1st gear. Rips...That was my initial feelings on the first pull. The low, mid, and top end power is drastically improved over stock. Where the Cobb Tune stops with their OTS tune, CAMTuning expands to the rest of the drivability of this truck. Custom tuning is definitely the way to go if you want to maximize your performance needs for the way you want to drive. And CAMTuning does an excellent job of doing that by providing solutions to the tune you're looking for.

Not only has the power improved, but the transmission has been tuned to improve shifts throughout the rev range. This makes the drivability even better than ever, in pursuit of effortlessness. Over the weekend I spent driving over the Cascades to the Oregon coast and back to Portland and felt like I was driving a much smaller truck with a big displacement motor. The turbo spools much faster and the tuning has improved the way you feel power, immediate, as the boost increases. Unlike other tunes and piggybacks I've tried, they could be a bit peaky in how they make power down low with boost lag until you reach up top at full boost The linear power band is amazing especially for my daily driving duties in the cities where I have to pull out into traffic a lot and dive into open spots in traffic lanes. It feels downright agile and light on it's feet. Out on the open highway i notice the truck rides quieter with less engine vibrations. RPMs stay where you need it to be in depending on what drive mode you select. Power is instant when you need it and it downshifts with less effort. I particularly like driving the truck in ECO mode over the others because the throttle is much more easy to place the power you want. Stock OEM calibration feels lazy in ECO with the foot down but with the CAMTuning Reflash, it's like Dr. Jekyll and Hyde. You get extremely surprised when the power pulls you back in your seat and this is the fuel efficient mode lol. With the dialed back throttle response that provides smooth acceleration in stop and go traffic, combined with the instant Super Saiyan 3 transformation within a second of your foot at full pressure, it's the ultimate sleeper mode. You can ease into the throttle for the best fuel economy with the laid back throttle response but the second you put the hammer down, you're rewarded with linear boost and power delivery. It gives me vibes of my B58 powered GR Supra in the way it makes power.

All in all I'm truly impressed with CAMTuning's OTS 91 Reflash tune. It's exceeded all my expectations where I have had previous disappointments with boost controllers, and other OTS tunes out in the market. If you are on the fence about tuning with COBB Accessport and CAMTuning, just do yourself a favor....Just do it.

Also just wanted to share one of my acceleration runs:

Really appreciate you taking the time to write all that up.

I know you were cautious going back into Tacoma tuning, especially after your previous experience, so I don’t take that trust lightly.

These trucks respond extremely well when the torque model is calibrated correctly and the transmission behavior is adjusted to complement it — all while staying within the design intentions of Toyota’s system.

Glad to hear it delivered for you — especially coming from someone who knows what a properly calibrated B58 feels like.
