Is the random Apple Car Play disconnects normal? My phone is on the latest iOS and it disconnects maybe every other time I drive the truck? Seems to always happen while I'm on the phone too (could just be coincidence) but its super annoying.

Happens to me all the time. I think I've noticed it happening when I'm getting a notification in some app, like someone "liking" an iMessage or a Spotify notification. I haven't noticed anything where I would say it's 100% "this". I also think at least sometimes it's maybe due to a background update?

I used to have this issue on my iphone 14. I also noticed that around the area it was always happening there was a company hosting a T-Mobile wifi and my phone was always connecting to it as I passed by. I disabled that feature, updated to IOS 26 and also switched to the Lexus app instead of the Toyota app.. and that fixed the majority of disconnects, but rarely it still happened at other locations. Then I upgraded to a iphone 17 and I haven't had that problem since.
