Condenser struck by (something) Toyota will not replace under warranty

Screened mine today. For only 6,200 miles driven….mostly in the city, and I never tailgate…the condenser has way more dings than I’d like to see. It really is paper thin!

I used black aluminum screen. Had to cut two vertical pieces for the upper, placing it behind the grill shutters. Then another piece across the lower opening. This should help protect the entire cooling system from rocks and bugs. Took me about 1.5 hours to cut and fit it all.

"Federal auto safety regulators are considering a formal investigation into model-year 2024 through 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander crossovers following reports that the vehicle's front grille design leaves critical cooling components vulnerable to road debris, potentially causing severe engine damage and sudden power loss.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI), a division of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), opened a Defect Petition after receiving a formal complaint from a vehicle owner. The petition alleges that the Grand Highlander's front fascia features wide, open grille apertures without adequate mesh or protective screening to shield the heat exchangers positioned directly behind it."

Looks like I found my path to file a complaint.
