No. It’s on off for now. When I get caught up I’m going to see if I can simulate open doors with wiring. Haven’t had a situation where I wanted to keep them deployed so it’s not a priority right now
Maybe keeping them down in a parking lot would help with door dings or when you want to wash the roof and use them as step.

Did you have any issues mounting the control module where they tell you? I cant see it fitting where they show it.

OK, so I just received my AMP Research powerstep from Real Truck to install on my 4th gen Sport. The installation took awhile and then when I got to the part in the manual to connect the OBD plug to the truck's wiring system there is nothing in the install manual that tells or shows you which wire to splice into. It says blue and white wires, but the problem is that there are 5 white wires and several blue ones. Called Real Truck and they were unsure but assumed which two. Now I have to wait for their engineering folks to email be back some day. So, the frustrating part is my truck is all torn apart now and the assume wires appear not to work.
Not sure if anyone else is doing an install and has any information on this issue that could help me out.
Thanks

I would make a new thread asking your questions. We all installed the RC power steps and then we did a factory switch mod instead of the RC universal switch.

Any updates on the wiring and use of the steps?

The boards are great. Took some time to wire, but not bad. Yes, they deploy when you open the door and come back when you close them. There are magnetic switches you put inside the door, but you don't notice them unless you go looking.
Do you recall what pins you used? Just received the switch and not finding what pins to use. Small pins down in there. Thanks if you can help.

Edit I think this is electronic switch and needs power to work. Not getting anything with my meter.

So how did you do the factory switch mode. I cannot for the life of me find the correct pins.

I am going to be honest and DO NOT DO THIS BASED ON WHAT I DID if you don't want to as this worked for me but not telling you to do it.

I could never get the pins after trying and trying. SOOOOO I started guessing. Then it worked once I had the correct combination. I would try to get it for you but I bought the switch with the pigtail already and those wires are tucked way up and nice and out of the way. Sorry.

I am doing the install myself tomorrow with the oem switch.

A couple of resources I found helpful:

- For the pigtail to connect the switch to the RC harness, I sourced from (it has both mail and female plugs but only need the one that works fine). Was unable to source from a salvage yard and a better value than other options I have seen:

- A good thread that shows photos of the plugs and pinout (although depending on how you face the switch or plug it may be the mirror image, also the pin numbers assume 8 pins vice 6 so some threads refer to pins 2 and 4, whereas this one 3 and 5. ):

- And also to source the switch, I was able to get the Tacoma LTD switch (for reasons I don't understand, part number is different from the equivalent Tundra switch), looks to be the right part:

No idea why you are quoting me. I have had mine for almost a year, factory switch and all. I was trying to help out the other poster. Mine works great.

Quoting you again for effect. Don’t be so aggressive. I was responding to your post of 9:09 am today. You provided little information of any value from your successful installation so I thought I would contribute to help out.
I think my reply may have been helpful to others doing the install.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy.
Well since the guy was asking ME the question I answered him with what I did so go carry on elsewhere claiming I added little value. I added the value of which how I DID IT since he was asking ME.

Let me know what you find out when you get this done? Thanks for the links on this what running boards are you using?
