Hey guys. Essentially recreated the TRD performance exhaust. Turned out nice and was way cheaper. If you don't want to hear me ramble, sound and visual is at the end:

Thanks dude ! After looking at the TRD twin pipe, I don't think it even has a mini resonator, just 2.5 in to 3 in to twin tips, so essentially the same. I like it ! Like the ability to swap tips too

That turned out nice. Now you just need the TRD center pipe to round out your TRD Pro-ish build

Awesome. So basically instead of the trail pipe dump, you have an extended pipe going to the original exhaust tip point. No resonator. So the only difference is any exhaust noise is being dumped at the back of the truck instead of under the cab?
Just confirming the exhaust shop didn’t do anything else to modify the exhaust noise, other than add the 4-5’ of exhaust pipe and a better looking tip in a more tucked up position, right ??? Thanks!

Correct! I'm going to pull it off tomorrow since I found a TRD pipe so I'll post a photo of them next to each other so you can see.
I think you might still get some of that on/off noise from the hybrid. That guy I talked to who was selling his TRD axle back was selling for that reason. Let me see if I can dig up the photo of what he had an exhaust shop do

Found that photo. This guy just had the tailpipe cut but kept the resonator and got a new black single tip. Can't remember if he just painted the rest himself or had a shop do it, but painted the new bend.

The nice thing is you can just mess around and try it and change it back if you don't like it. I'm on my way back up through oregon and snagging someone's brand new OEM tailpipe section for free in case I get annoyed with my TRD pipe one day.Found that photo. I just recently found out my SR has a slightly different exhaust than other models. From what I can gather, I'm lacking the resonator. Is this basically what you have created?

Interesting! Yea bassically just cut the rear resonator off and replace with a 3" pipe
Here’s my fix. Cut the tip off, cleaned it up, painted with high heat ("flame proof") spray paint. Sounds great. Can hardly see it at all. Wish Toyota did this to begin with.

Yep. My exhaust doesn't sound all that different than what you posted. I thought it sounded different than my neighbor's OR, but assumed I was imaging things. Then I found out I have no resonator.
