Defective silver paint

Toyota claims that the paint mottle on my 2024 silver Tacoma, which was manufactured at the Baja plant in 12/24, is characteristic of the paint, which is total BS. And this determination was made without an in-person inspection. Any suggestions on how to redress the issue with the judge, jury, and executioner (i.e. Toyota)? I’d like a third party to exam the paint, as Toyota doing it themselves appears to be a conflict of interest.

Same color, and same issue! Dealer couldn't care less. I am going to open a case with Toyota corporate. Perhaps I may even go to a local detailer and get them to document the Mottling in writing so I can submit that.

I don't see it on mine, but have seen a ton of these threads, specifically calling out the silver. I think my silver looks great, but I guess maybe I'll try and take some pics in the sunlight tomorrow..?

Without sunlight and at that distance and angle, it is difficult to determine if your truck has the same paint issue, as my truck looks similar in that lighting. As long as it wasn’t manufactured at the Baja plant, you probably aren’t affected. Your truck looks good, and I hope you find it to be free of paint mottle.

Mine's the same, specifically on the front fenders. It doesn't bother me, at least not enough to complain. You can only see it in certain lighting and there is no way they could ever make it better trying to repaint it.

There's a lot of stuff going on in your photos but I can't see it. (My paint is fine.)

I'd take it to two different body shops, and pay for them to write up an evaluation, and turn that over to corporate.

Sorry for your situation, im blessed with my Bronze oxide, i also spent over an hour at time to take delivery, i inspected every inch….i have seen paint issues other members have experianced, …it always comes down to one question. Does anybody do a solid walk through upon delivery before leaving dealerships anymore?…..i had a list , of nake sure this was here and there, my son did same, as well as daughter, they both bought 2025 tacomas, my wife and i did same when we picked up her 2025 Hylander

I performed a solid walkthrough, purchased it used (only 1,300 miles) out-of-state with cash, and made certain the VIN didn't fall in the early transmission problem category. The only issue was that it wasn’t a very sunny day, resulting in the defect going unnoticed. The two photos, which I took today, present exactly how it looked when it was bought. Looks perfect.

Have you looked at it through a polarized lens yet (like sunglasses)? That should show off even more paint inconsistencies.
