Does anyone else use Lucas Oil Stabilizer?

Has anyone else ever added Lucas oil stabilizer to their oil? (I have used it in my 2011 Prius it's entire life. 212k on it now.) I also used it on my 1997 F150 and it stopped the truck from burning a qt of oil between changes. - Just getting some input before using it in my 2024 Tacoma. Thx

I do not use engine oil or fuel additives.

I'm using a leading brand name, synthetic oil, 0W-20. It's not the best oil. I do feel it's one of the top brands and has one of the best packages. Several companies make excellent oils.

I do perform engine oil analysis. Wear materials and chemical makeup of what's coming out of the pan are both excellent and incredibly boring. Nothing is telling me I need to add anything, change the brand or type.

I compliment use of the oil with a Top Tier fuel, the highest octane available.

The Toyota owners manual does not mention oil additives, if they are required or should be avoided.

Why do you want to use it? I don't get adding something to your oil just for the sake of adding something to your oil.

I would not put that crap in a new engine. Machine tolerances are far too tight to need it. Lucas oil stabilizer just thickens the oil. It has been proven not to increase lubricating properties of modern oils. Running oil that is too thick in tight tolerances causes aeration, which is tiny bubbles in the oil. Those bubbles breaks up the thin film of oil between bearings causing metal on metal contact. Its likely it would cause premature wear before any actual benefit.

That said, I do use it in other things. Like my old tractors and truck engines. Just to give the old loose engines a bump in oil pressure.

Couldn't agree more with Mercedes here. I do oil analysis also, less now since break-in. Good oil doesn't need any help with additives. Additives can diminish the total chemistry of the specific oil used. Good oils are balanced, application always dictates chemistry. Just get a good oil.

Toyota oil is a high moly oil
they would be using the high molybelium blend for a reason .
