Finally got my JBL speaker grill swapped over. Not an easy process!! After removing it from the original A pillar trim, I was able to use only 1 screw post - the one closest to the point/tip. I used JB Weld as the adhesive…which seems to have worked, after being clamped overnight. After cured I followed up with a bit of Lexel sealant in spots. Overall it turned out, but I wouldn’t recommend doing it unless you have lots of patience and diligence. You gotta be creative too in how you clamp it

It still pisses me right off that Toyota didn’t make the truck with a drivers side handle.

Too bad they don’t make a replacement pillar with handle without the faux speaker grill for those of us that don’t have the JBL option on our trucks. Look kinda odd having a grill on drivers side only.

Nice work! I’m pissed about this too, but I am pretty sure it’s because, in an accident, the airbag would force anything sticking out further into the driver’s skull.

That could be true...but that logic doesn't align with the passenger side handle lol. I'm thinking it's more to do with visibility. Regardless...I'm happy it's done, and I hope that it holds up. Finding an adhesive to effectively work with Polypropylene, Polyethylene and EPDM plastics is nearly impossible. If anyone is looking to do this on their truck, DM me and I'll try to give you some tips based on my experience doing this

Maybe Velcro could do the trick.
