You just waterproofed your floor, OP!
I cut a 5 gallon bucket in half and hold it right under the drain bolt. Then move it over to the oil filter that I made a little ramp for the oil to flow over.

My four MUST HAVES for oil changes are this bucket from Amazon, this flexible funnel, oil refill funnel, and this cardboard from Costco (and I assume Sam’s Club if that’s where you shop).

The bucket – https://amzn.to/437jHNj– is great for catching the literal jet of oil that comes out. My first change definitely overshot my drain pan but even moving it further away still allowed for some splashing. This catches it all and then I dump it in my used oil container. This is also awesome for transmission drain and fills since you can accurately measure what comes out to replace it for refills.

The flex funnel – https://amzn.to/4kuLyNh – is flexible and easily wraps around the cross-member where it always drips despite the design of the filter holder. This refill funnel screws into place and has a gasket. Makes it super easy to fill the oil - https://amzn.to/43D92di

The cardboard is to catch any drips or spills. At Costco, these cardboard sheets are between the cases of water on a pallet where ever they stock water and they usually accumulate on the side before they eventually collect them up. There’s a slightly thinner version between the packages of palletized paper towels. Whenever I see them I grab a few. They’re easy to fold up and carry in the cart. I reuse them or if get drips I throw it in recycling.

Don't feel bad, I did the same thing but on my driveway during the first oil change. Didn't realize that 0w-20 is basically water and spilled it everywhere. Luckily I had already ordered a Fumoto valve and installed it at the first oil change so subsequent oil changes have been mess free.
