Are you crying on the internet because you clearly have to remove sensors the Tacoma comes with in order to install that bumper?

you would also need to relocate/modify the cruise control system if you bought TRD off-road or sport or higher trims.

What is your problem? You are the kind of insufferable person that makes people hate lifted trucks and the people who drive them.

lay off whatever it is giving you that hairpin trigger.
You haven't researched aftermarket bumpers or looked at there install guides at all have you. You easily know if the sensors will work before even ordering.

I ran the adaptive cruise control all the way to Moab from Sacramento. Lmao. I don’t know what his problem is but he clearly doesn’t have a clue about what R&D is. This isn’t something that was simply just slapped on. This was thought out, then executed. Sheesh.

Lol. Thanks. I posted them just for you. šŸ¤£šŸ˜‰
Hey Moundman, here it is. Just got back last night. Had planned on camping there but the wind was about 50mph with higher gusts. Had to go into Hanksville.

When we went in 2022 in our 1st gen, we flew the drone. It was too windy to fly last week.

All I will say is a Toyota tech told me if you remove the grille you need to disconnect the battery first, before unplugging the grille plugs. Otherwise, your run the risk of loosing the sonar sensor and it will need to be reprogrammed.

And before you say it ... this isn't something I heard. I'm speaking from experience. I learned this the hard way. My truck was two days at the dealer while they tried to figure out how to reset the sonar. As far as I'm concerned every single company that sells aftermarket front bumpers needs to say this up front in their install directions. DISCONNECT THE F'N BATTERY BEFORE REMOVING THE GRILLE.

My C4 front bumper.

Hey! If you're still in the market for a front bumper, check out the Cali Raised Stealth Bumper for the 2024+ Tacoma:
šŸ”— Stealth Bumper – 2024 Tacoma

It’s a low-profile hybrid-style bumper that keeps things tight to the body—perfect if you want added protection without going full-blown bulky. Designed to fit most 20" or 32" light bars, winch-ready, and bolt-on install with no cutting required.

Plus, you can add side recovery points and a bull bar if you want to build it out over time. Clean, functional, and trail-tested.

My only comment is before you purchase look at the install instructions. Pay attention to how the bumper attaches and if you think it would survive a winch pull. Some of these bumpers I would not trust to survive a winch extraction.

I went with C4.

Relentless Fabrication. ***Mic Drop***
Looks nice. Unfortunately, in Michigan, things like that look nice for about 3 years, tops. If it's not a garage queen. I've a front bumper from WARN, and sliders and rear bumper/carrier from LOD, on my Wrangler. After 5 years, everything needs to be pulled, sand blasted, and re-coated. The rust is killer.

Good thing it’s in the garage. 😤

I didn't want to spend a fortune on a bumper so I went with the DV8 Offroad bumper...
Prior vehicle, had DV8 bumper. Came down off a ledge; gently as I could. Bent easily. Something I've done multiple times since w/another brand. Hope they've upped their game for you. If you find yourself having to put it to serious use, let us know how it performs.

Your website clearly states that cutting is required. Did you guys change something?

Thanks will do. I've only hit it once in Utah on the very bottom and it was good. I'll def keep that in mind though.

At the 6:33 mark, you can clearly see the only ā€œcuttingā€ involved is just trimming a couple of small plastic tabs behind the grille no cutting the bumper, no pulling the whole front end off like older setups required.

So yeah, to clarify:
  • Yes, the website says "cutting"—but it's very minimal.
  • No metal or bumper cutting, just a few plastic pieces.
  • Totally hidden, keeps the OEM look, and installs in about 1–1.5 hours.
Way cleaner than the old-school installs. If you're still on the fence, that video makes it pretty clear how easy the process is now.
