One last thing I decided to do before dropping the Taco off at the shop. I needed to de-badge the stickers. What a major PITA! The first layer came off (in many pieces) but the second layer was a bitch. I ended up soaking it in Goo-gone which seemed to help and then rubbing with a micro fiber rag. I probably should have just let the shop to it as they are taking all other badges off anyway.

So here it is getting dropped off at the local shop. (Taco Vinyl - who is a pretty big supplier of grilles and vinyl decals etc. - they are located near me in Boise. They have a sister business that does the mechanical type work and another sister business that does the vinyl & PPF wrap). They have several Modified Tacos. The white one next to me is sitting on 37s.

So over the next few days the Tacoma will get an alignment, an OTT tune, full satin PPF wrap (roof and front pillars with be matte black) and a full ceramic window tint. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like!

Also I received a call from the place I had ordered my sport hood through and the hood was damaged during painting and they are now out of stock. I shopped around and couldn't find another vender so I ended up ordering the Seibon Carbon fiber hood. Hopefully its not to much carbon fiber. If it is I always have the stock hood.

As mentioned I waited two months for the Tacoma after ordering it. During that time I accumulated most of the parts for the build and spent time ceramic coating everything I could. The wheels, shocks, springs, links etc.. It will be nice to have it on the wheels for sure but figured why not put it on everything else...

Smart move. I’ve got the Methods MR305 NV in the flat matte black. They’re showing signs of fading. Maybe ceramic coating could’ve helped prevent this. I’ve had them less than a year. Anyways, love your build…and your garage @Idaho-Taco

Wow that’s a little surprising after less than a year!

If the carbon fiber hoods is too much I’ll take it off your hands. Are you building this truck for any outdoor activities or just to have the baddest taco in Boise?
Ha.. ok I'll let you know. Im anxious to see it with the carbon fiber hood on it. The truck I used as partial inspiration for my build has the same hood and I like it on there so will see (photo attached).

The purpose of this truck... good question. It will be an all "around vehicle" meaning it will have multiple purposes. First, it's something my wife can drive (she hates my big truck) and she occasionally wants to haul something of her own that won't fit in her car. 2nd, we needed a vehicle for driving back and forth to our home in Arizona. Her car doesn't have enough room for our "stuff" and my truck won't fit on our garage there... 3rd. I wanted another off road vehicle... My Jeep is great off road as it was built to be a crawler but I wanted something that had more room and would be a 2nd off road toy for Idaho as Im moving the Jeep permanently to AZ. So to answer your question (sorry I got long winded) yes! it will be involved with outdoor activities. :)

Things are taking longer than expected at the shop. But it’s close. Hope to pick up tomorrow. Went ahead and had all windows ceramic tinted too. They sent me a progress pic. Full PPF is mostly done, roof and front pillars are PPF black. OTT tune is done, alignment done. Looking forward to picking up.
