Hey, total wiring noob here. Is wiring for the AUX switches really that simple? My Baja's came with the full wiring harness (Relay, switch, light connections). The videos I have watched lead me to believe I can cut the wiring harness and only leave the light connections with the +- cables. Do these then splice into one connection and connect to the pigtail? I'll add a picture of the harness that came with them. Any feedback/input/tips is greatly appreciated!

cant speak to that specific harness but when I installed a Diode Dynamics light bar, I cut the harness they gave me and wired it directly to the OEM pigtail power/ground. Really easy install

You have to make sure that your bajas don’t exceed your aux amperage to determine this. If the amperage draw of both lights is greater than the max amperage of the aux channel you want to use, then you’ll need to install the harness like it comes, retaining the relay but lose the rocker switch and wire the switch leads to the aux output of the truck.

Both lights combined draw 4.4 AMPs so I'm thinking of using the 10 AMP to leave the 5 for a hitch light and the 15 for anything else I want to add. Thanks for the info!

It would be ideal if I could do that for my lights. Where is your light bar mounted?

I did the OEM grill swap and put the Diode Light bar in the factory slot for the lightbar that is standard on the TRD Pro/Trailhunter. Taking the bumper off and installing the bar was 95% of the effort. Wiring took 3 minutes at the most using the OEM pigtails.

I also added rocket pod lights with an independent switch using one of the blanks on the panel because I didn't want to use the OEM switch for a low power light and saved them for higher power light bars.

Timely post. I’m in the middle of the grill swap to a Trailhunter grill from Rave Offroad and using a RC 20” light bar. The specs say that it draws 8.3amps, so my plan is to cut the harness and wire it directly to the 10a aux button.
