I am newer to car electronics and am getting ready to tackle installing a light bar in the heritage grill and fang pod lights. Feel comfortable with most of it but I was curious about grounding the lights. I know I can hook both up to the same pigtail for power/oem switches but can I ground both on the 1 ground wire on the pigtail or should I just ground 1 wire there and ground the other somewhere else.
Thanks.

For wiring I dialed in ChatGPT as an electrical guide and it completely aced instructions for splicing in my trailer harness to my 3rd brake light in my GFC, guided a split switch off that GFC aux 1 interior lights to my Baja Designs trailer hitch pod light, it solved all my OE pigtail kit questions. I never phoned a friend, never called a shop or threw in the towel.

Kit is now dialed, I’m no electrician..FWIW

Ground anywhere on the frame is acceptable that includes the AUX switches

So it depends on two things: how many amps your lights draw, and the wire gauge (size) of the ground wire in the pigtail. To be on the safe side, run one to a bolt or some other ground.

Thank you. I’m gonna play it safe and ground to a bolt.

I have both my ditch lights grounded at the aux ground. Everything else got grounded elsewhere. No problems at all.
