You'd need to know the weight of the trailer and the weight of what you want to put on it.

You can absolutely tow that empty with a tacoma. The question is what are you putting on it?

I have a 20' flatbed that has a steel frame and wood deck, it's about 2k lbs without anything on it.

That means I have about 4k worth of capacity left to tow with, as my tacoma has approx 6k total capacity to tow with.

Quick towing math = weight of trailer + weight of cargo must be equal to or less than your towing capacity.

If you put the average sized sedans and such on it, you'd probably be fine. If you're planning on putting anything heavier on it, you need a truck with more towing capacity to do it *legally.*

The trailer should have a metal piece on it that shows its weight and it's total weight rating (trailer + cargo) on it. They're required for commercially produced trailers (not for home-made trailers).

That's a badass trailer, and easily one of the lightest car haulers on the market.

With that trailer behind your Taco, towing cars around 4k lb will be fine.

Ok thank you, i was worried that it would be difficult for driving back roads. Some of the places i bring my vehicles to for servicing are 1-1.5hr backroads when traffic is bad

Getting a trailer on Bring a Trailer? 🤔🤯
That is a really cool trailer. The Futura web site isn't very forthcoming on what that trailer weighs.

Towing with a manual 4G Tacoma isn't optimal, but at least with this trailer you're putting yourself in the best position for success.

Also - any cool pics of the cars you buy? Are these for enthusiast builds? Drift maybe? 😎

For sure. I had to Google it a bit and found weight at a couple vendor sites. The manufacturer wanted my email address just to get a spec sheet.

For everyone else - it's ~1200lb bare, so the one at auction that OP is looking at is probably ~1300lb. That's about as light as a car hauler gets.

I tried to post a link to some of the cool cars I sold in the last year on my bat profile but it won’t let me post the direct link so on bring a trailer type in my username “youngtimerclassics”

Make sure you don't exceed the payload of the taco. You need to figure out what it would be with the trailer and cargo.

AHHHH....

You were the seller of that high dollar Mk2 16v GTI. Crazy. Granted, that was likely the best all-original Mk2 to hit the market this decade.

I loved my 16v GTI.
