Replaced the stock tweeters in my 2025 trd sport which has the JBL system.
Added the JBL Stadium 192T 3/4" tweeters using the Metra 72-8110 harness. The new JBL speakers came with a passover which im not sure if I needed, but I soldered them to the Metra harness, otherwise it's plug & play.
Ended up reconnecting the center bluetooth speaker since it's more balanced now.

Considering adding the beatosnic preamp since it might help with input signal quality or something.

Anyone else replace only their tweeters and added the beatsonic?

Either me passenger side dash or A pillar has gone bad. Not quite sure which. Was it hard to remove?

Probably ought to upgrade the stock amp since the ohms / impedance is `2 ohms for the stock speakers. I think yours are 3 amp? I’ve read that amps will overheat when driven hard with mismatched speaker impedance.

Do you happen to have the source where they say the stock speakers are 2 ohms? I couldn’t find anything so could use that information if it’s a certainty. But yes the tweeters I put in are 3 ohms.
I’d rather not mess with the stock amp, unless there’s something that’s fairly easy to install without needing to make big changes

Since I couldn’t find anything in detailed specs either on the JBL premium audio, I had looked at what info I could find as an OEM replacement. I bought from this local to me company for another vehicle about 7 years ago to upgrade coaxial (door) speakers in a Honda. I remembered they were great about advising on knowing OEM speaker impedance so as not to overheat or fry an amp (a fire hazard as well). Point of my long story is that they currently list their offering as a 2 ohm coax…so my guess is that the tweeters are also 2 ohm.

Let’s see if we can get others to weigh in who can confirm with better info.
I’m frustrated that our Toyota user manuals give zero info on the JBL systems in the various Tacomas.

I’m pretty sure you can measure the ohm resistance of any speaker with a multi-meter set to ohm reading. Subwoofers with dual voice coils can be wired differently to change the ohms and a multimeter on the final positive and negative terminal (without any power applied from the amp or source unit) will tell you what resistance you wired said subwoofers. Hope this helps.
