I have been wanting to find a scan tool that lets me read OBD2 codes and have the ability to clear them once fixed. I heard about the Carista that also lets you do some customization to the truck. Things like change the quick turn signal from 3 clicks to as may as 7 or auto windows down with your key fob. Stuff like that.

Anyway, the down side to Carista is that you need a subscription and that lost me. I know some people just buy the product, customize the way they want and then return it. I'm not that kind of guy, sorry.

I now just found this ODBelevin that does the same plus more than the Carista with out the option of a subscription. Anyone have more knowledge on this product or know of a better scan tool?

Holy crap! $180? The Carista is $32 right now. The one-month subscription to customize your truck is $12, and then let it go. Down the road, if you need to read and delete codes, it's another $12.

Its around $160 right now with the black Friday sales and yes, it could turn off your seat belt chimes I believe.
Like I said, I don't like doing that buy and send it back shenanigans. No judgment on those that do. Just not my style. Plus I have heard that sometimes if you disconnect the battery, lots of stuff reverts back to stock.

My understanding is the Carista still has some capability with the free version of the software. My Carista was a present that came with subscription so I don't have direct experience with the free capability. If I had bought mine though, I would have done the month by month subscription and just bought 1 month for initial use. No buy and send back scheme, just paying when needed.

Okay cool, that's good to know. So I can customize my stuff for the first month and then just use it as a code reader/reset for the rest of the time I have it? Will it also do a 4Runner customizing for that first month along with my Taco?
