OEM Hard Tonneau Cover Protection

The OEM Tonneau cover is not cheap. I know that it will not last forever, but I also want it to last long enough to make the most out of my money's worth. If I can extend it's life in any way, I am all for it. Mostly the sun is what will ge to it. I am debating between 303 Aerospace Protectant and Protect-All Surface Care. And also thinking of using Meguiar's Ultimate Black for the rubber part. Any one has any suggestions as to how to clean/protect the OEM Tonneau cover from regular wear and tear?

I have been using Griots Garage Ceramic Vinyl and Rubber Protectant. It seems to be keeping it black and the rubber soft. I live in Florida so intense sun. Had the truck since October and so far so good.

It looks like it will hold to the outdoor elements based on the description better than 303 Aerospace Protectant. It also has a satin finish. Too bad I cannot find any local place that carries it, Amazon is my only option to get one for now.

+1 for aero space 303, been using it on my convertible for years and the rubbers have been holding out good. I like it bc it leaves a matte finish more than a shiny one.

Yes it’s hard to find at the local auto parts stores. Even though most of the chains carry Griots products they don’t get this far into their line of goods. I have used Amazon, but if you check out the Griots site they often run specials and offer free shipping over a certain amount. I have only purchased one bottle so far, you don’t need much and it goes a long way.

How does Aerospace 303 hold up after washing the car? Is it something that needs to be applied after every car wash?

I also use Griot’s vinyl and rubber ceramic protectant. I use a sponge applicator to apply. It’s also great on tires and the plastic trim outside on the tease rear bumper. Works great on interior trim too. I’ll probably apply it t to tonneau cover at least once a month during the summer. The sun does a ton of damage during that time.

I ordered liquids a few times from Amazon, so far so good. Probably jinxed myself now lol.

I've ordered plenty of liquid detailing products from Amazon; they all come wrapped in a plastic bag or similar protective packaging. I've also ordered motor oil and other fluids with no issues. The problems arise on the delivery side of the equation.

I just ordered and received my item form amazon. It is , like what you said, wrapped in some plastic bag inside the amazon box. Figured if it gets damaged and leaks during shipping. I will just file a return claim on Amazon. So far so good, everything was in order and the Griot's item that I ordered came without damage.
