Its a known fact most aftermarket shock absorbers are better than oem. They don't have to build at anywhere close to the same scale, nor for a restricting price point to supply a manufacturer.The shocks were junk from the start. Eibach 2Rs have been much, much better.
I have to give credit where its due, I like the factory Bilsteins for what they are. Ride quality and handling are quite good. They may have a manufacturing flaw but a mass produced integral reservoir shock is a fairly new idea that hopefully gets ironed out spreads.
From a purely technological standpoint, the 2rs are actually a downgrade by not having a resi at all on the front.
