Red footwell lights?

I have all my meso lights set to red for hunting season. Will change them back to white after season ends. I also installed the extra set of the door courtesy lights in the footwells so everything would match

That’s perfect. I have all the mesos too. I didn’t know I could use the extra courtesy lights.

Did you order an extra set? Or did they come with an extra set?

When you purchase the courtesy lights they send you 4 so if you use the two in the doors just stick the other 2 in the footwells

Gotcha, thanks. I assume that our Tacos don't have lights in the rear doors, but other Toyota models do? (I don't have my truck nearby to check)

Ah ha, thanks. So my TRD Off-road 4dr Taco with premium package would only have two door lights, freeing up the other two for footwell lights.

I'm digging this idea.

Agreed, brilliant and so creative. This idea is gonna catch on like wildfire lol. I may do this but hang the lights with Velcro if I can so I can avoid cutting. But will cut if I need to.

I may try Velcro too. Have you done it yet?

You’re going to have to be careful if using Velcro because the back of the lights are open with all the electronics exposed. That’s why I decided to do the cut instead.

I took off the panel yesterday and I unclipped the OEM light then attached a Meso light. The wire is not long enough for me to Velcro it anywhere that will point the light to illuminate the space to my liking, so I will cut. First I need to get replacement lights from Meso since the mounts are broken even though the LED works. The mounts are broken over the exterior housing but the little piece inside that holds the circuit board to the housing.

Agree, I see what you mean after looking at it yesterday. I have a bunch of insulation on my panel so I will cut enough of that out of the way.

Quick update: Meso responded to my email within 3 days and sent a prepaid return shipping label. I’ll get that printed tomorrow and sent back to them. They will send replacements.
