Picked it up. Quality is awesome. With the +60 OEM wheel and 285/70 for the spare I'm going to need a spacer to mount it, but otherwise, pretty dang sweet!
This is the "multi fit" which sits 1 to 2 inches further out than the "short fit" which is recommended for the 4g Taco

Wondering if any of you have run the Rig'd setup on your 4G or rigs you've had in the past.

I looked at them and really like them, but they ended up being close to the same price as a bumper+swingout so decided not to. However I found a good deal on a lightly used one with the cooking table and cutting board already installed, so might snag it.

Anybody run one of these ?
I had one on my 4Runner build out and I have one on my Trail Hunter. In my opinion, they are exceptional. It is overbuilt beyond belief, and I really love the convenience of putting it on when I head out for a few weeks and taking it off when I’m home popping around town and don’t need it. I have pulled a Smittybuilt Scout Trailer with it with no issues but most of the time if I’m bringing the trailer, I don’t need to swing out and it’s nice to be able to pull it off.

Question from a fellow Trailhunter owner-what are the advantages to you of the swing-out on your setup? Did you relocate your spare tire or use for lugging gas, do a cooking setup…?
We also tow a small trailer as well as car/truck camp without the trailer.

I use it to carry a 3 gallon black sun warmed water tank as a hand washing station, a 4 gallon rotopax, fuel container, a duffle shaped dry bag for trash and their super table as food prep and to stack the Wolfpack bins that travel in my buildout isle while driving.

Alright. Some of you may laugh... But on my way home from picking up the Rig'd I saw a Dirtcom basically new on offer up for a screaming deal. I flipped the Rig'd the next day and went and picked this up today.

I'll do a full write up later, but I love the design, clearance, and license plate bracket. The only thing I think is better with the Rig'd is the finish. The dirtcom doesn't have nearly as burly powdercoating. And I liked that the Rig'd came with an extra accessory hitch, where you'd have to order one for this, but damn it's sweet ! Fits much better than the multifit Rig'd I snagged.

SCORE! Hoping to hear from DirtCom on the availability of our order for the Subaru so we can pick up in Upland.
Congrats, that was lucky that you got to compare and get the better fit and setup.

Now that one looks better. The price still gives me acid reflux, but the hitch being rated as a class 4 with 1000lbs of rated tongue weight is much more appealing. I might have to peruse the marketplaces of the facetubes for one of those.

OTD after all my shenanigans I spent $756.54 with a new 4pin. Might spend $40 more on a wheel spacer as this +60 stock wheel is pretty tight, but still pretty good deal to me even if I have to have it powder coated later. I'm stoked on it!

I've been watching this closely after waiting to find the right solution to carry a spare 35". The Trail Swing does look like the better option for me too. Two questions...which can wait until you have more experience with it if you choose.

1. Do you think you will need to beef up your rear coils to support the additional weight? (or maybe you already have?)

2. It looks like it will block some sensors when in use. What's the impact on electronics in the cabin? Is it maybe similar to when towing a trailer? Or are there constant error/warning msgs?

I like that the sensors are just a temporary impact since I don't plan to keep it on for daily driving.

Thank you for sharing your experiences! ☮

Hey there!

1. I already had the Icon Overland springs in the rear for my camper. They say the trail swing 70# + whatever your full size spare is, so could definitely have an impact on OEM springs. The only problem with upgrading the rear springs if you're not going to carry the weight constantly is then you'll be butt high when unloaded + your OEM shocks will be stretched as they're not designed for any lift if you haven't upgraded them (for us lower trims anyways, couldn't get confirmation on the TH shocks). Air bags could be good for folks wanting to take it on and off though.

2. Can't speak to the sensors as I don't have any! It does block the camera which I don't like, but likely going to do what @Pappy did and buy an OEM camera and harness during a sale and mount that somewhere.

Yeah, I've got airbags and will probably rely on those when it is on. It is pretty light. Might not need to use them. The tire weight isn't quite 1:1 since it is already in the rear, but there is a slight difference for me between the weight of a 33" stock size and my 35".

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated!

You probably knew everything I said 😂 sorry. I'll give some feedback as I use it more! I really like the design though. It's super sturdy. I also like that the bolt for the wedge is on the back side of the hitch. The rigid is inside the front of the hitch and you need a 10" extension. Not a big deal, I think this one will be easier to get on and off.
