Screen protector for 14inch multi-media display...recommendations?

Anyone use the OEM Screen Protector? PT976-35241 I am aware there are many alternatives...just curious if anyone has used the OEM and their thoughts/opinions. Thanks!

For less money you can get the screenprotech which would probably better anyways and it comes with all the other protectors.

$100 for OEM is crazy imo

Can anyone weigh in on the Screen ProTech anti glare screen protector, when viewed through polarized lenses/glasses?

I wear polarized sunglasses. The screenprotech hasn’t given me any issues.

A few days ago I installed a screen protector listed at the YotaVerse site.

The protector is made of tempered glass and comes in either clear or matte finishes. Clear would run the risk of glare and reflections, so I selected matte.

While glass, there is some flexibility with the piece. The protector can be lifted and moved easily when positioning. It's like working with a semi-stiff piece of plastic.

I started by getting anything I needed inside the truck, then closing the door with the windows up. It's an attempt to limit any debris floating around.

To keep prints of everything, I used a new pair of gloves, the type I typically use for oil changes.

I cleaned the existing protector and surrounding area of dust beforehand.

The factory screen protector is a sheet of plastic. While it did its job, there was occasional glare. It was also scratched sometime before taking receipt of the truck.

Primarily due to static, it does take a few attempts to get the new protector to lay down well. On the third try, I watched as the protector settled from end-to-end. I didn't have to push out or remove any bubbles. I was left with this one dimple I couldn't seem to get rid of. Three more flicks of that corner later, the static left that section and the glass was flat end-to-end.

Since it's not something I touch, I simply wipe the dust away from the instrument panel display when cleaning the truck. For that, I use a waffle microfiber towel and a glass cleaner safe for plastics and computer screens. In a covered area, I mist the towel once or twice, then wipe in a left-to-right motion. Usually once or twice is enough. The same supplies will clean the 14" display.

I have a stack of six towels used for cleaning screens only. Once those towels are dirty, they are washed by themselves. All cleaning mitts and towels are washed with a microfiber soap.

I've also noticed that, unless I've just finished eating fried chicken, the protector doesn't pick up finger prints or smudges.

First picture. We'll never know what people were attempting to do with the truck before I got it. Maybe they were testing the strength of the factory protector with a set of keys or an ice pic. These are just some of the scratches.

Second pic. Protector going on. There's the glass panel and positioning strip. Once you think you've got it in the right place, you peel off a cover underneath (see white tab).

Third pic. The finished product. Static can be an issue with any of these pieces. You might need to pull back and re-apply some sections. Temporarily grabbing something metal on the truck chassis can help with that.

Fourth pic. Protector was shipped in this box. Good packaging and instructions. Included in the kit is a series of "dust stickers". The stickers are used to pick up any dust particles before applying the screen. The glue (or whatever it is) on the stickers is a fail; it transfers to the display screen. The glue does wipe off easily. To remove any dust, I used an existing towel I had or a small one that came with the kit.

Final pic. Notice how the light is being captured on the display with no protection, versus the completed view above. It highlights the anti-glare properties of the protector. Viewing the screen with the protector is a bit different than previous. A touch more subdued than before. Whatever vibrancy I gave up I made back by having zero reflections or glare while in full Sun. The instrument panel and 14" display now compliment one another and look the same.
